‘I suffered violence’: Himanshi Khurana levels explosive new charge against former partner Asim Riaz; he dismisses allegations of religious conversion, mocks her health issues

Himanshi Khurana and Asim Riaz, who began their relationship on the controversial television show Bigg Boss in 2019, parted ways in 2023 after four years due to differing religious beliefs. However, Punjabi actress Himanshi Khurana recently disclosed in a podcast with ex-Bigg Boss contestant Paras Chhabra that Asim Riaz had asked her to embrace Islam, which she found unacceptable.

The video went viral, leading to a heated exchange between the two, during which Riaz denied the accusations, took a swipe at her health problems that she had discussed in the conversation, and referred to her as a “fame digger” who was with him to propel her career.

Afterwards, Khurana reacted to his statements, challenging him to “talk about everything” and asserting that she was subjected to violence. She retorted, “When my health is mocked, and my struggles are questioned, I believe it is time to draw a line. If we are going to talk about proofs, then let’s talk about everything. I am prepared to share the facts and evidence.”

She referred to CCTV footage and ominously mentioned an incident which transpired on the morning of 27.11.23 related to the matter of conversion, highlighting, “yes, the violence I suffered.” Khurana warned, “If you want to tarnish my image, then now, I am not someone who will continue covering up to protect your so-called image or staying silent while I am repeatedly insulted and disrespected.”

She further stated, “People from different production houses and channels covered your shit, but I am not like them now. I have maintained my dignity and shown respect, and I expect the same in return. If that respect is not going to be reciprocated, then I have no reason to remain silent anymore.”

Himanshi Khurana conveyed that if Asim Riaz wanted to indulge in a “proof game, then let’s play it honestly-with facts, accountability, and the complete truth. She then concluded, “I really don’t understand why people have a problem when I share my own journey, my learnings, while everyone else openly talks about their experiences. Why is it any different when I choose to share mine?”

Additionally, she claimed that the media, not her, created the narrative around “forceful conversion,” remarking, “I have always been respectful and mindful while sharing my personal journey publicly, whether it was my Bigg Boss experience, my spiritual journey, or matters concerning my health.”

Asim Riaz reacts after the viral interview

“I never asked anyone to change their religion. Not once. As a matter of fact, I was the one who pushed you towards fitness. You’ve been in this shape only after meeting me; before that, everyone knew how you looked,” Riaz mocked her appearance while dismissing the charges. Khurana had mentioned that being in an unhealthy relationship triggered several health problems for her during her interaction with Chhabra.

He told her to refrain from using religion as a weapon because it is a “sensitive subject” and using something so intimate as an excuse for people to despise him was juvenile and only demonstrated the extent of her attention-seeking behaviour.

Riza then argued that he didn’t need anyone’s help to develop his career or to take credit for things they didn’t do.

He also invoked their financial statuses and wrote, “Who has more money and who has less? Well, if you really want to know, the bank statements can settle that. But money was never the measure of character. Character is how far you’re willing to fall when you’re desperate for attention, relevance, or a few more views.”

Riaz alleged that Khurana was trying to use him to stay in the spotlight and added, “Years later, digging through old relationship and personal life just to create more gossip says more about the person digging than the person being talked about.”

He even took aim at Chhabra, likening him to a pig and lashed out, “And to the man behind the microphone, sitting there with his stomach hanging out like a pig while making gossip his profession, brother, respectfully, I’d suggest spending a little less time discussing other people’s lives and a little more time in the gym.”

Riaz also took to X to take a jibe at the health issues she discussed and then attacked her questioning, “So why did you msg me after 3 months in March and wanted to get back to this relationship, don’t worry I have the message, screenshot, if needed, I will post next time.”

“A fame digger doesn’t love you they love your name, your image, and what standing beside you makes them look like. They call it love, but it was always a career move. A name takes years of pain to build; you don’t get to borrow it and pretend you built it,” he wrote in a subsequent post, prompting a response from Khurana.

Khurana had revealed that her experience during the Char Dham Yatra made her realise that she cannot renounce her faith. “I felt I wouldn’t be able to do this anymore. So, I said I wanted to visit Char Dham and all the pilgrimages before that, because after that I would never be able to meet them. It was like I was saying goodbye. I felt like I was betraying my God.”
