The highly anticipated Border Gavaskar Trophy Series has been won by Australia convincingly, defeating India 3-1 in the 5 match series, with the rain saving India in the drawn match at Brisbane.
Though India started the series on a positive note with a win by 295 runs at Perth in the first Test, Australia didn’t let India get another chance in the series.
In the next Test, Australia won by 10 Wickets at Adelaide in the Day-Night Test. India escaped with a draw in the next Test at Brisbane thanks to the rain which severely affected the game.
In the 4th Test in the historic Boxing Day Test at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australia won by 184 runs. In the final Test at Sydney Cricket Ground, Australia won by 6 Wickets.
This is the first time since India’s tour of Australia in 2014-15 that Australia have managed to win the trophy. In between, India won 2 series in Australia and also 2 at home, but this time, Australia got the better of them.
