On Thursday (9th January), the Los Angeles Police Department in California informed that one of the wildfires currently ravaging the county is being investigated as an ‘arson case.’
According to a report by NewsNation, the Kenneth Fire which has destroyed homes near Hidden Hills and Calabasas cities has been set ‘purposefully.’
The locals nabbed a suspect, accused of starting the wildfire, and handed him over to the Los Angeles Police Department.

The investigators are not probing the case as ‘arson’ after taking the suspect into custody. If the suspect is found guilty, he could be sentenced for homicide and spend the rest of his life in prison.
Los Angeles District Attorney Nathan Hochman “Justice will be swift. It will be firm, and the maximum punishment will be sought…Our goal is to send this warning.”
In the meantime, the Los Angeles police department has detained 20 people so far in connection to looting in areas ravaged by the 5 wildfires.
