On Saturday, January 18, British rock band Coldplay kicked off their India tour with a scintillating performance in Mumbai. Chris Martin, the group’s lead singer and front man, won the hearts of the audience during the concert as he connected to them in their own language.
Firstly, he greeted the audience in Hindi. After one of the songs, he expressed his gratitude by saying “shukriya,” for the appreciation of the fans.
Later, Chris Martin brought the house down when he said ‘Jai Shri Ram’ after reading it from one of the placards held aloft at the concert. The audience cheered wildly when he said the Hindu chant.
Coldplay will perform again in Mumbai on January 21 and 22 before moving to Ahmedabad for their next gig.
