Police in Congress-ruled Karnataka book Hindu activist for ‘provocative remarks’ about MK Gandhi

On Saturday (11th January), Hindu activist Meenakshi Sehrawat took to X (formerly Twitter) to inform that the Karnataka police have lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against her.

“The case was filed because I made some comments about an individual called the ‘Father of the Nation’,” Sehrawat stated. She pointed out that the FIR was filed for merely stating historical facts in her own words.

While calling out the glaring hypocrisy of the law enforcement agencies, the Hindu activist said that cases are never filed against those who abuse freedom fighters such as Veer Savarkar, and Bhagat Singh and Hindu Gods like Lord Krishna and Lord Ram.

“It appears as if I have no freedom of speech, freedom of expression or freedom to ask questions,” Meenakshi Sehrawat remarked.

According to a report published by Mangalore Today, the Hindu activist accused MK Gandhi of supporting Jinnah in the creation of Pakistan.

She had said that he wanted to appease 20% of the population and thus sought a ban on the ‘Shiva Bhavani’ poem based on Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. Meenakshi Sehrawat reportedly said that MK Gandhi advocated Ahmisa to weaken Hindus.
