Los Angeles fires: Death toll rises to 16 as deadly inferno continues to rage

The two devastating wildfires in California have now killed at least 16 people while destroying more than 12,000 structures. The fires have swept through an area of 37,000 Acres in Greater Los Angeles area.

Palisades Fire, the largest fire, has moved east and is now threatening the area os Brentwood and Encino. The fire is only 11% contained as of now.

Hundreds of Thousands of LA residents have been evacuated so far with the rescue operation still far from over.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass and California Governor Gavin Newsom have come under intense fire following the tragedy for their inability to prepare for the wildfires (an almost annual occurrence in California), and then for their inability to deal with these fires as even water hydrants were dry.
