Madhya Pradesh: Javed Ansari arrested by police for abetting the suicide of a Hindu girl, case filed

Javed Ansari, alias Shalu Ansari, who was accused of abetting the suicide of a Hindu girl, was arrested by the police in the Naigarhi police station area of ​​the Mauganj district of Madhya Pradesh on Monday (2nd February). Ansari, who had been absconding for a long time, was produced before the court from where he was sent to judicial custody.

According to Naigarhi Police Station In-charge, Sub-Inspector Govind Prasad Tiwari, Rambahadur Singh, a resident of Ward No. 13, Naigarhi, informed the police on 10th January that his daughter had committed suicide by hanging herself. Javed Ansari was the neighbour of the victim. He had been harassing the victim for many days.

Ansari used to stalk the victim to her coaching classes and threatened to circulate her videos. The victim’s friends revealed that she used to be constantly stressed. Meanwhile, the victim’s father has been preparing for her wedding. However, on 10th January, the victim committed suicide. She was taken to the community health centre, where she was declared dead by the doctors.

An investigation was launched into the matter under Section 194 of the BNSS (Bhartiya Nyaya Sanhita). During the investigation, the police gathered evidence based on which a prima facie case of abetment of suicide was found to be made out against Ansari. Subsequently, a case was registered at Naigarh Police Station under Section 108 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).

The action against the accused was taken under the supervision of Superintendent of Police Mauganj, Dilip Soni, Additional Superintendent of Police Vikram Singh Parihar and SDOP Mauganj Sachi Pathak. The police team included Station House Officer Naigarhi, Sub-Inspector Govind Prasad Tiwari and Assistant Sub-Inspector Narendra Mishra.
