In a shocking case, a mentally ill girl in her 20s was raped by 5 men in the Indian state of Goa. The accused have been named as Adil (18), Mohammed Ali Mulla (22), Shahzad (18), Viresh (18) and Mohammed Yasir (18). The crime took place on the night of January 22 and January 23, and went on from 8 PM to 3:30 AM.
The case was filed against the 5 accused after a complaint by the girl’s mother who said that one of the accused persons befriended her mentally unsound daughter and abducted her from a bus stand in South Goa.
The victim’s mother said that one of the accused traveled with the victim in a bus to another location from South Goa, and then subsequently took her to a third location on a scooter, where four other men joined them. According to the complainant, they then exploited the woman’s condition and raped her. Police have charged the five with gang rape and other relevant sections of the BNS.
All the accused have been arrested as the Goa Police solved the crime within hours.
