In the Ashoka Garden area of Madhya Pradesh’s Bhopal, a case of rape and blackmail of a student by a data engineer named Mohammad Aquib has come to the fore. The police have arrested accused Aqib after registering an FIR.
The incident began about a year ago at a wedding where Mohammad Aqib met a 23-year-old B Com student. The accused was constantly pressuring the girl into a romantic relationship. However, when she refused and stopped communicating, Aqib faked suicide. In August 2025, Mohammad Aqib sent a photo of himself with a noose around his neck to the victim. Upon seeing it, the victim panicked and went to his home to try to convince him.
There, Mohammad Aqib took advantage of the student’s helplessness and raped her. The accused also recorded videos of the crime to later blackmail the victim. Based on this video, Aqib continued to threaten and physically abuse the student for a long time. Fed up with the harassment, the victim finally filed a complaint at the Ashoka Garden police station, following which the police arrested the accused.
