A covert operation by seven women cops reportedly led to the exposure of a sexual harassment and religious persecution scandal in a multinational IT firm in Nashik, Maharashtra. The seven women cops entered the IT firm in disguise and witnessed the Hindu women employees facing sexual harassment and religious persecution.
The operation by the women cops led to the culprits, including a team leader and a woman HR representative, being caught red-handed and taken into police custody. Nine cases have reportedly been lodged against six people working at the multinational company, and seven of the accused have been arrested. The victims, aged 18 and 25 years, include a male employee of the firm who was subjected to religious insults and was forced to offer namaz.
The sexual harassment and religious persecution of the victim employees of the firm have continued over the past four years. The allegations against the accused include sexual harassment, physical relations on the promise of marriage and religious persecution.
According to the police, the criminal behaviour of the accused towards the victims continued blatantly due to the inaction of the head officer of the company. The victims orally filed complaints regarding the inappropriate behaviour of the accused before the head officer multiple times, but he failed to take any action, thus allowing the abuse to continue. “When the complainant repeatedly lodged verbal complaints regarding these incidents with the company’s head officer, he failed to take cognisance of her complaints regarding the molestation; instead, he effectively abetted their actions,” the police said in a statement. The police are examining the recordings of 40 CCTV cameras to collect evidence against the accused.
A report by NDTV lists nine cases involving sexual harassment and religious persecution of the victims between 2022 and 2026.
July 2022 – February 2026
Accused Danish Sheikh, Tausif Attar, and Nida Khan hurt the religious sentiments of a female employee by making derogatory comments about Hindu deities. Accused Tausif Attar reportedly had physical relations with a victim on the pretext of marrying her. Danish outraged the modesty of the same victim by engaging in obscene acts with her in the lobby of the office.
May 2023 – March 19, 2026
Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi were accused of leering at a female employee, inappropriately touching her and making offensive comments regarding her marital life. The victim made a formal complaint to the head officer, but no action was taken by him against the accused.
2022 – February 2026
Accused Shafi Sheikh stared at the victim sexually and ridiculed her during official meetings. Accused Tausif taunted and made shameful remarks about the victim, who is married, for not having children. He tried to establish physical intimacy with her.
May 4, 2025 – December 2025
Accused Tausif Attar posed obscene questions to a victim regarding her private life and made indecent gestures. He also made derogatory comments about Hindu deities in the presence of Hindu women employees.
2022 – March 23, 2026
Accused Tausif Attar, Danish, Shahrukh Sheikh, and Raza Memon made insulting remarks about the victim’s religion and forced her to perform Namaz. They also pressured her to convert and forced her to eat non-vegetarian food. The accused used obscene language against Hindu women employees.
September 6, 2024 – February 2026
Accused Asif Ansari and Shafi Sheikh made lewd comments about a female employee’s body and deliberately touched her inappropriately. Accused Tausif Attar used derogatory language against Hindu deities.
2025 – March 2026
Accused Asif Ansari, Shahrukh Qureshi, Raza Memon, Tausif Attar, and Shafi Sheikh stalked the victim, made obscene remarks about her, and touched her inappropriately. They are accused of acting in concert to vitiate the atmosphere by using abusive language against her religion.
January 2025 – Present
Accused Raza Memon and Shafi Sheikh tried to establish physical relations with the victim against her wishes. The accused, Shafi, proposed to her, while Raza Memon made obscene comments about her body and attempted to touch her inappropriately.
January 2026 – April 1, 2026
Accused Raza Memon and Shahrukh Qureshi engaged in obscene conversations with the victim and engaged in obscene acts. Despite the victim’s resistance, they continued to intrude upon her private life, kept a watch on her, and subjected her to mental and physical harassment by making lewd comments about her body.
A Special Investigation Team (SIT) led by ACP (Crime) Sandeep Mitke was formed to conduct an investigation into the matter. The SIT is also probing the possibility of a large-scale racket operating in the firm. The police have urged other possible victims to come forward with their stories.
