Tania Sachdev wrote, “Having played for India since 2008 It’s disheartening to see a lack of recognition from the Delhi government for achievements in chess.” She further highlighted how support from other state governments has propelled their players to achieve great success in chess.

Tania Sachdev won a historic team bronze and even an individual medal in the 2022 Chess Olympiad. She did even better in 2024 as she returned with a historic Gold from the Chess Olympiad. However, the state government is yet to acknowledge her accomplishments or recognise her for the same.
