PM Modi distributes over 51,000 government job letters at 19th Rozgar Mela, says a new culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship has developed in the country

On 23rd May, Prime Minister Narendra Modi distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to the candidates who were hired for the jobs of the central government at the 19th Edition of Rozgar Mela that took place virtually at 47 different locations around the country.

While addressing the newly appointed youth, PM Modi stated that it is an important day not just for the youth but also for their families. He said the selected candidates are now becoming partners in the country’s development journey and will have an important role in achieving the goal of a “Viksit Bharat” in the coming years.

These newly appointed candidates are from various parts of the country, and they are being allotted to various ministries and departments of the Central Government, including those of Railways, Home Affairs, Health & Family Welfare, Ministry of Finance, Services, and other government departments.

As per the Prime Minister, a large number of selected youths will be getting engaged in sectors like railways, banks, defence services, health and education, etc.

In his address, Prime Minister Narendra Modi hailed the growing culture of self-employment and entrepreneurship in the country, noting the involvement of a large number of youth from tier-1 and tier-2 cities, and women. He said that India has become the third-largest startup ecosystem globally, adding that the change is visible in the country.

The PM further stated that India’s youth are making a significant mark across every global field, and that their vibrant spirit and dynamic energy must now be deeply integrated into the nation’s public services.

He highlighted that the current generation of young Indians is witnessing an unprecedented era of opportunity to progress and achieve their aspirations. PM Modi asked the youth to focus on the expanding economic landscape, stating that countless avenues are opening up in multiple sectors.

PM links global partnerships with youth opportunities

Speaking about his recent five-nation visit to the UAE, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway and Italy, PM Modi said the world is showing strong interest in India’s young population and its technological growth.

He said discussions with global leaders and major companies during the visit reflected growing international confidence in India. According to him, India’s partnerships with other countries are aimed at creating opportunities, jobs, confidence and global exposure for the country’s youth.

The Prime Minister also mentioned the partnership between ASML and Tata Electronics for supplying advanced lithography tools for India’s first commercial semiconductor fabrication plant at Dholera in Gujarat.

Around 12 lakh appointment letters issued so far

The Rozgar Mela is part of the government’s employment generation initiative. Since its launch, around 12 lakh appointment letters have been distributed through 18 earlier Rozgar Melas held across the country.

PM Modi said India’s youth are playing a major role in speeding up the country’s growth journey and the Rozgar Mela reflects the government’s focus on creating more opportunities for “Yuva Shakti.”
