In Pune city of Maharashtra, a drunk dumper truck driver ran over people sleeping on the footpath and killed 3. The victims included a 1-year-old and a 2-year-old. The other victim was a 22-year-old man. 9 others were injured in the accident.
The incident took place in the early hours of Monday when the truck driver Gajanan Shankar Totre lost control of his vehicle while under the influence of alcohol and ran over people sleeping on the footpath.
26-year-old Totre has been arrested and charged for culpable homicide.
Three of the injured are in critical condition and are undergoing treatment at the Sassoon Hospital.
