Telangana: Waqf Board inspector caught taking Rs 10,000 bribe in mosque property registration case

A Waqf Board Inspector posted in Telangana’s Nalgonda district was caught accepting a bribe of ₹10,000 and trapped red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Saturday.

According to the ACB, the accused officer had demanded the money from a complainant in exchange for processing an official matter and submitting a favourable factual report to the Waqf Board CEO in Hyderabad.

The report pertained to a representation filed in February 2025 seeking the registration of Jaame Masjid Abubakar Siddiq Rahmatulla Alai, located in Peddavoora village of Nalgonda district, in the Waqf Board’s records.

ACB officials recovered the entire bribe amount from the possession of the accused during the operation. The officer is expected to be arrested and produced before the designated ACB court in Hyderabad for further legal proceedings.
