The Union Cabinet has approves the ‘One Nation, One Election’ proposal. As per reports, on Thursday, December 12, the cabinet approved this proposal to synchronise Lok Sabha elections, state assembly elections, and other local bodies elections.
As per reports, a comprehensive bill for this will be introduced in the Parliament soon. The Bill may well get introduced during the ongoing Winter Session of the Parliament.
The proposal was forwarded by a high-powered committee led by former President Ram Nath Kovind. The former President had stated that a consensus should be built to push for ‘One Nation, One Election’.
