Pakistani terrorist terrorist Amir Hamza, who co-founded the Pakistan-based terrorist organisation, Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT), was shot in Lahore, Pakistan, by an unidentified gunman. Though the terrorist survived the attack, he was seriously injured and is reportedly undergoing treatment at a hospital. He was shifted to a military hospital in a critical condition under the high-level protection of Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI).
As per reports, some unidentified attackers opened fire on Hamza outside a news channel office in Lahore. This is the second time that the terrorist has been shot. Earlier, in May 2025, he was shot outside his residence in Lahore, but he survived the attack. Following the attack, his security was increased by the Pakistani authorities.
Hamza, a US-designated global terrorist, has been linked to several terrorist attacks in India. He was designated as a sanctioned terrorist by the United States Treasury Department. He is also said to have served on LeT’s central committee and played a critical role in fundraising, recruitment, and negotiations for the release of detained militants.
He was associated with the Afghan Mujahideen and was also the editor of LeT’s official publication “Majallah al-Daawa”. Hamza has authored several books, including Qafila Da’wat aur Shahadat in 2002 (Caravan of Proselytising and Martydom), which promotes the radical Islamist ideology.
It is reported that in 2018, after financial crackdowns on LeT’s Jamaat-ud-Dawah and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation by Pakistani authorities. Hamza severed links with the terrorist organisation. He then founded a new splinter terror outfit called Jaish-e-Manqafa to continue terrorist operations, including in Jammu and Kashmir.
