US: ‘Bering Air’ flight disappears from radar mid-air, was carrying 10 passengers

A commercial Bering flight carrying 10 people disappeared from the radar near Nome, Alaska on Friday (7th February). The flight was reportedly travelling from Unalakleet to Rome.

A statement issued by Alaska State Troopers confirmed the disappearance of the flight. “On February 6, 2025, at 4:00 p.m., AST was contacted by AFRCC regarding an overdue aircraft. It was reported that a Bering Air Caravan had gone missing while en route from Unalakleet to Nome, with nine people passengers and one pilot on board. SAR crews are working to reach the last known coordinates. Updates to follow,” read the statement.

A ground search has been going on to locate the possible wreckage of the flight. “Right now, air support is not available due to weather and icing, so we’re conducting a ground effort,” a spokesperson for tribal non-profit Kawerak was reported as saying.
