Narendra Kumar Haldar, a resident of Payagpur in Uttar Pradesh, was killed after being dragged for 30 KMs under a car on the Nanpara-Bahraich road. The 35-year-old, traveling on his bike, died after he was dragged this far under the car of a revenue official (Tehsildar) following an accident.
Naib Tehsildar Shailesh Kumar Awasthi was reportedly present in the vehicle at the time of the accident. He has been recommended for suspension by District Magistrate Monika Rani following the accident. Awasthi said he was unaware of the body being dragged under the car while he was on his way back to Nanpara.
Meanwhile, the vehicle’s driver Meraj Ahmed has been arrested in the case. An investigation is currently underway to determine the exact circumstances around the accident.
