Amid continued violence in Bangladesh, attacks on the Hindu community are being reported more frequently. In the latest incident on 22nd December in Raozan, Chattogram district, Bangladesh, an Islamist mob set fire to a Hindu family’s house, destroying the property. The blaze reduced all household items and furniture to ashes and also killed the family’s pets.

Last nght, an Radical #Islamist group planned to lock several Hindu families inside their homes from the outside and burn them alive.

The attackers also left behind a handwritten warning banner near the burnt house, openly threatening the Hindu community living in the area. The banner accused Hindus of taking part in activities that go against Islam and warned them to stop immediately or face serious consequences.
The house belonged to expatriates Jayanti Sangha and Babu Shukushil. According to locals, the family narrowly escaped the fire by cutting through a fence at the right time. Other family members were also saved. Locals said that apart from the people, nothing was left inside the house.
The banner, written in Bengali, stated that Hindu residents of the area were under close watch. It warned them to stop all movements, meetings, and activities that were described as being against Islam and the Muslim community. The message made it clear that failure to follow these instructions would lead to severe consequences.
The threat went further, saying that if the Hindu community ignored or violated the warning, their homes, properties, and businesses would be destroyed and that no one would be able to protect them. The banner ended with a final warning, stating that any resistance would invite serious action.
