The “29 seconds” narrative spread rapidly on X, but the Delhi High Court had reserved its detailed 133-page judgment on 9th July 2025, pronouncing it nearly two months later after extensive hearings and deliberations.

Gulfisha Fatima was involved in the conspiratorial meeting on 23/24.01.2020 at the Seelampur and Jafrabad protest site among others like Umar Khalid and Pinjra Tod members. Gulfisha Fatim had created two Whatsapp groups called Warrior and Aurton Ka Inquilab. These groups were created on 26/12/2019.

While refusing bail, the court noted that Khalid and Imam allegedly created WhatsApp groups, spread pamphlets and delivered provocative speeches, finding prima facie material to suggest their central role in planning the Delhi riots conspiracy.

Additional Sessions Judge (ASJ) Pulastya Pramachala noted that charges against accused persons, namely: Ankit Chaudhary alias Fauji, Sumit alias Badshah, Pappu, Vijay, Ashish Kumar, Sourabh Kaushik, Bhupender, Shakti Singh, Sachin Kumar alias Rancho, Rahul and  Yogesh, were not proven beyond reasonable doubt. Giving the accused persons benefit of doubt, the court acquitted them of all charges.

In 2015, Business Standard reported that Sachin Rao was a part of Rahul Gandhi's 2.0 team, reiterating that he was handpicked by Gandhi himself. Rao was a part of the DPSG group from the 29th of December 2019 up until the 12th of March 2020 - when he was removed by the admins of the group.

In the anti-Hindu riots of 2020, bullets were fired from the Brahmapuri mosque, after which, the fear among Hindus deepened. Now an attempt is being made to extend the mosque in front of the Shiva temple in Gali No. 12.

People of Brahmapuri are saying that this mosque was built fraudulently and now the insistence to make it bigger is part of a conspiracy.

The prosecution argued that the acts of accused Shahnawaz and other rioters setting the godown ablaze with Dilbar Negi inside it, leading to his death, attracted the conviction of the accused under Section 302/436/450 IPC.
