A few days ago, another AAP MLA Manoj Kumar was convicted and sentenced to three months in jail for obstructing the election process at a polling booth in Kalyan Puri area of East Delhi during 2013 Assembly elections.
Nearly 17 months after Ankit Saxena's, the Delhi government has finally agreed to pay compensation, especially after multiple outrages it faced over ignoring the plights of Saxena's ailing and old parents, who had lost their sole breadwinner.
Recently, Yashpal Saxena, father of Ankit’s father had expressed his disappointment at Delhi government for not keeping up the promises of compensation and financial and legal assistance.
The case was lodged on a complaint regarding hindrance in the election process being created by over 50 protesters, then led by Kumar, at the main gate of an MCD school, during 2013 Delhi assembly elections, which caused problems for the voters.
