While answering questions on India's stand on Ukraine situation, EAM Dr S Jaishankar said India's stand is based on national interest.

There are already existing government-specified norms, quality parameters and regulatory requirements that companies have to meet to get their products certified fit to be marketed. So why is this parallel system of 'certifying' them for one particular community is even continuing?

EAM S Jaishankar, during the meeting, mentioned that India has always favored resolving disputes through diplomacy.

Centre told SC in affidavit that the States have the power to identify a community as minority in their respective jurisdictions.

“Despite the challenges posed by the serious ongoing conflict, we have ensured that about 22,500 citizens have returned home safely,” S Jaishankar said in the parliament.

India till date has banned around 321 Chinese apps since 2020. Initially India blocked 59 Chinese apps, then 47 and later around 118 apps citing concerns of data security of Indian users.

Interestingly, the paper says that their claim of the number of deaths is based on 'models' and estimates, not actual data. Meaning the 3.2 -3.7 million figure is 'speculation', not based on actual data.

The ministry further added there were security concerns associated with these apps that they could carry out surveillance activities and espionage by accessing camera/mic, GPS location and could indulge in malicious network activity.
