Pakistan Defence Minister Khwaja Asif said that Pakistan and the Congress-National Conference alliance were on the same page when it came to the restoration of Article 370 in the Union Territory.

The Awami Ittehad Party (AIP) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JEI) have formed a strategic alliance for the upcoming Jammu and Kashmir Assembly elections, a statement by AIP said on Sunday.

Several videos are doing rounds on social media. It is being said that the three bodies seen in the video are that of the three terrorists who have been neutralised in the ongoing encounter in the Baramulla region.

Jammu & Kashmir now has 90 assembly constituencies. The BJP intends to contest the election separately in the polls, while the National Conference (NC) and the Congress have formed an alliance.

An 8-member committee of JeI had approached the GoI to lift the ban imposed on it so it could participate in the elections. However, the request was denied by the Centre.

On 8th September, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slammed the National Conference and accused the party of showing sympathy for terrorists

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Biden discussed the situation in Bangladesh and emphasised restoration of law and order and ensuring safety and security of the minorities, particularly Hindus. Meanwhile, US Diplomats had meeting with NC leaders in J&K.

The National Conference and the Congress will contest the forthcoming assembly election in Jammu and Kashmir together and have formed an alliance

Kishtwar SSP stated that the SHO has been suspended and two persons have been arrested under the POCSO Act.

Security officials noted that US-made weapons used by the Taliban or abandoned by American soldiers are now being smuggled into Kashmir through Pakistan.
