An attempted train derailment was thwarted on Saturday after miscreants removed fishplates and keys from a railway track near Kim Railway Station in Surat.
Taking to X, journalist Rahul Shivshankar informed about the incident and said, “Investigation launched into a suspected act of sabotage. The engine of the Nainpur Jabalpur train 05706, collides with an extraneous iron rod placed on the track near Kachhpura station (boundary of Jabalpur and Nagpur divisions). Fortunately impact did not cause a derailment.
Taking to X, the Railways Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw said, "The engine of Sabarmati Express (Varanasi to Amdavad) hit an object placed on the track and derailed near Kanpur at 02:35 am today."
