The political violence in the state of West Bengal continues unchecked as according to BJP, 3 workers have been shot by the police in Panchasayar in Bankura district for chanting Jai Shree Ram.
The BJP delegation had visited Bhatpara to review the situation and investigate the reports of violence against BJP workers after violent clashes on Thursday claimed the lives of 2 people and injured several.
The Narada Scam relates to a sting operation conducted by investigative journalist Mathew Samuel on TMC leaders and IAS officers wherein they were allegedly caught on camera accepting bribes in exchange of favours.
Sunil Singh joining the BJP was on the cards as his brother-in-law Arjun Singh, who was earlier a Trinamool MLA of Bhatpara and chairman of the Bhatpara municipality, had also left the party to become a BJP MP. Arjun Singh was given BJP ticket from Barrackpore Lok Sabha constituency.
The protesting junior doctors have now agreed to meet Mamata Banerjee at 3:00 PM today. However, the doctors have said that the meeting would have to be “in the full view of the media” and not “behind closed doors”.
