Kuki terrorists unleash carnage in Manipur, brutally murder elderly Meitei man day after killing priest

In visuals that have surfaced on social media, the victim could be seen lying dead on his bed in a bloodied state.

On Saturday (7th September) morning, an elderly man belonging to the Meitei community was brutally murdered by suspected Kuki terrorists.

The incident occurred in Bakhal Ningthembam Nungchappi village in the Jiribam district of Manipur. In visuals that have surfaced on social media, the victim could be seen lying dead on his bed in a bloodied state.

Deep cuts and injury marks could also be spotted on his head and upper part of the body. However, some media reports have claimed that the elderly man was shot dead after Kuki terrorists barged into his house.

An estimated 3-4 people have reportedly been killed in the Jiribam district, owing to the ongoing ethnic clashes.

While speaking about the matter to The Hindustan Times, a security official informed, “The gunfight started in the morning after militants entered a village and killed a man. The killing was part of the ethnic clashes. The gunfight is on.”
