Agra: 40 Hindu families put up ‘Houses for Sale’ posters after harassment by local Shahbaz and his son

In Uttar Pradesh, several Hindu families living in Bhagwan Nagar Block A under the Kamala Nagar area of Agra decided to leave their homes after facing continuous problems from Mohammad Shahbaz. Nearly 40 families have put up “House for Sale” posters outside their houses, saying the situation has gone out of control.

Residents say daily fights and tension have made normal life very difficult, especially for women and children. A video of a local Hindu woman has surfaced in which she says that only one Muslim family lives in their colony. She claims that Shahbaz often throws stones and bricks, leaving people injured and scared.

Some local people said that Mohammad Shahbaz and his son Sunny frequently get into arguments with families. On 2nd February, during a Hindu family function, Sunny entered a house and attacked a resident, who later needed stitches. Women in the area have also complained about misbehaviour.

Residents say they approached the police many times, but instead of help, they were threatened, leaving them with no option but to sell their homes. Local councillor Hariom Baba Agarwal also said no action was taken even after complaints.

Meanwhile, ACP Sheshmani Upadhyay said police inquiry found that Shahzad was staying in the house of a widow, Sitara Begum, who wants him to leave. He added that Shahzad has agreed to vacate and the issue has been settled as a family matter.
