A major arrest has been made in Uttar Pradesh’s Mirzapur district in connection with a serious case linked to religious conversion and ‘love jihad’ operating through gyms. Police have arrested Maulvi Khalilu Rahman, who is said to be the main planner behind the network. Earlier, seven other people connected to the case had already been sent to jail.

The case came to light after two young women from Mirzapur filed separate complaints at different police stations. In their statements, they said that gym trainers and gym owners first became friendly with them and slowly pulled them into love relationships. Later, the women were blackmailed using obscene photos and videos and were pressured to convert to Islam.
During the investigation, police found that Khalilu Rahman was in regular contact with some of the people running these gyms. According to officials, he helped them mentally influence the girls and encouraged religious conversion.
Police also said that Khalilu Rahman used to teach children at a mosque in the Chilh area of Mirzapur and was active in several other locations as well.
As part of the action, police sealed four gyms linked to the case: KGN-1, KGN-2, KGN-3, and Iron Fire. Officials believe these gyms were being used as a cover to trap young Hindu women.
Police officers have said that the investigation is still ongoing. The roles of other people connected to this network are being closely examined.
