Uttar Pradesh: Arif poses as Hindu to sell street food in Meerut, gets exposed after customer makes payment using UPI

Tensions erupted at Sharda Road in the Brahmpuri police station area of Meerut on Friday (6th March) after a Muslim food cart owner was found selling Kachori by putting a Hindu name plate. As per reports, the food cart owner named Arif had written ‘Raju Nanu’ on the name plate of his food cart.

His identity was exposed after a customer made a payment to him via QR code, and his real name appeared on his UPI Id. The customer informed Bajrang Dal’s Mahanagar Vidyarthi Pramukh, Vishal Dhanak and Ujjwal Tayal about the incident. Thereafter, several members of Bajrang Dal reached the spot and confronted the food seller. They removed the misleading nameplate from his cart and held a protest. The Bajrang Dal members said that Arif kept lying that his name was Raju Nanu before ultimately confessing.

The Banjrang Dal workers were not satisfied with the handling of the matter by the Kishanpuri outpost in charge. As a result, the members, led by Mahanagar Sanyojak Himanshu Sharma, reached the Brahmapuri Police Station and protested there. A preliminary investigation is being conducted by the police into the case.
