558 madrasas, accused of massive corruption in the mid-day meal provided to students, are under the radar of the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh. The administration received complaints about the misappropriation of funds and the ration allocated for the kids. Afterwards, Monica Rani, the director of the Mid-Day Meal Authority, ordered an immediate investigation.
Akhil Bharatiya Pasmanda Samaj Manch’s complaint brought the issue to light. The forum informed the government that while many madrasas claim to have a large number of students on paper, they are not given the allotted budget and ration. Furthermore, government funds were embezzled and exploited for private benefit.
The submission concerning the welfare of the Pasmanda community’s adolescents has been taken very seriously by the authorities. The Director of the Mid-Day Meal Authority has issued orders to monitor every single detail during the inspection. The officials will visit the location to determine whether or not the food is being provided in accordance with the established guidelines. To determine the scale of corruption, the amount allocated and the number of children receiving the meals will also be computed.
The authorities have been given a set amount of time to submit the report as soon as possible and to penalise the offenders. The Yogi government has been working to improve and boost transparency in the madrasa education system for a long time. A survey of unrecognised madrasas had already been carried out. The government has now made it clear that individuals who deceive children will not be spared at all. The government’s goal is to guarantee that only students in need would directly benefit from its programs.
