‘You cannot vote for the BJP’: Video of TMC goon threatening people ahead of West Bengal election goes viral

Ahead of the West Bengal election, a video of a TMC goon doing a door-to-door campaign and threatening people against voting for the BJP has gone viral.

Journalist Shafiqul Islam shared the video on his YouTube channel ‘Arambagh TV’ on Thursday (2nd April).

In the viral video, a TMC goon was heard saying, “You cannot vote on the lotus (the election symbol of the BJP). If there is chaos on the voting day, then there is no need to go and cast your vote. I will send sweets to your home.”

He warned, “If you want to make us win because TMC is there for you 24/7, then those who support us will need to cast their vote. No votes should go to waste this year. I am telling this clearly.”

A woman who was intimidated by the TMC goon was heard reassuring him that she would do the needful.

“We will note who is casting their votes from each house. Our cameras will be present this time. It will be live this time,” the TMC goon claimed.

The video is said to be from the Baharampur Assembly constituency in Murshidabad district of West Bengal. According to Shafiqul Islam, the accused TMC goon has been identified as Raju Mondal.
