“TMC in ‘Panic Mode’ as BJP support grows”: PM Modi promises action against political violence and infiltrators in West Bengal rally, assures white paper to expose corruption

At an election rally in Purba Bardhaman on Saturday, 11th April, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a sharp attack on the Trinamool Congress, saying the party is in “panic mode” due to the growing support for the Bharatiya Janata Party in West Bengal.

Addressing the gathering, Modi said that if the BJP forms the government in the state, improving law and order will be a top priority. He assured that women will feel safe and that strict action will be taken against those involved in political violence. He also announced that a commission led by a retired Supreme Court judge would be set up to investigate cases of political violence.

The Prime Minister said the BJP government would bring out a White Paper to expose corruption and the law-and-order situation in the state. According to him, this will ensure that those involved in wrongdoing, including TMC goons, syndicates, and even MLAs or ministers, are held accountable under the law.

Modi also spoke about illegal infiltration, saying that all infiltrators would be identified and removed from the state. He added that action would not be limited to them alone, but would also be taken against those who helped them settle in West Bengal. He pointed out that even developed countries are strict when it comes to illegal infiltration.

At the same time, he tried to reassure people about existing welfare schemes. Modi said that the BJP would not stop the schemes started by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, but would focus on ending corruption linked to them. He also promised that the Ayushman Bharat scheme would be implemented in West Bengal in the very first cabinet meeting if the BJP comes to power.
