CJP lying to claim victory in defeat? Saurav Das claims the Modi govt had reached out for 'talks', govt denies

On the 20th July, Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) Saurav Das had claimed that the Modi government had reached out to the protestors for ‘talks’. Saurav Das tweeted, “It’s 11:52 AM. Ashutosh Ranka and I, on behalf of the Cockroach Janta Party, are on our way to meet J.P. Nadda. The government had reached out for talks in the morning. Our demands are clear. The youth has gathered in huge numbers”. However, that seems to be a lie to claim victory even when the protest was clearly a failure.

This lie was gleefully peddled by Vijaita Singh of TheHindu. She attributed the news to “sources”.

She tweeted, “Government reaches out to the CJP team for talks. DCP, New Delhi Sachin Sharma is talking on Centre’s behalf with the CJP team. CJP members were initially offered talks with District Magistrate, then a Secretary to the Union Government and also Minister of State, which was rejected by the members, sources said. The CJP wants a dialogue with the prime minister or a Cabinet minister, they have submitted the names of ministers to the DCP, said sources”.

However, it now appears that CJP spokesperson Saurav Das and several journalists who reported the government reaching out to CJP were lying.

Government sources have indicated to OpIndia that the claims by Saurav Das are untrue. The Modi government did not reach out to CJP for talks.

Lies concocted amid violence by CJP mob during Parliament march to claim victory in defeat

During the Sansad Chalo rally (Parliament march) by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP), rampant violence has been reported. There are reports that the CJP mob started pelting stones at police officials, after which the authorities had to resort to lathi-charge. The mob had broken the barricades to indulge in violence. It is further reported that the police also had to fire tear gas shells to control the violence by the CJP mob.

It would appear that the lie by the CJP about the government reaching out to them was concocted to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat. The CJP protest was long touted as a peaceful protest for the rights of students. However, with the violence during Parliament march, the critics have been proven largely right. The critics of the CJP had pointed out that while the protest uses students as their shield, the protest is actually being spearheaded by radical left elements who were looking to unleash anachy.

OpIndia too had pointed out that the trajectory of the CJP protest was similar to that of the Delhi anti-Hindu violence and ultimately, the mob would resort to violence.

It would appear that the fake news about the Modi government reaching out to CJP was concocted by the CJP not only to distance themselves from the violence but also in an attempt to portray the failed movement as an ultimate victory. Ultimately, the protest yielded nothing concrete. The ‘indefinite’ hunger strike by Abhijit Dipke came to a grinding halt only after 48 hours. Sonam Wangchuk climbed down from his demands and further, the protest, touted as a ‘peaceful march’ for the rights of students ended with violence by the mob. The fake claims about the government initiating talks seem to have been floated so that in the future, this mythical olive branch by the government can be used to claim that the movement was an ultimate ‘success’.
