As the protestors led by the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) continue to agitate at the Jantar Mantar, the Central government has reached out to the CJP to hear their demands. However, the protestors remain adamant and refuse to meet the government representatives.
Speaking to the media on 23rd July, Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said that in the last 24 hours, the government has tried to reach out to the protestors four times, but no response has been received from the protestors. The Union Minister humbly appealed to the representatives of the protestors to speak to the government and work out a solution.
“I wish to share that in the last 24 hours, as many as four offers were made to the student representatives for a dialogue. It is my humble appeal to the students on agitation that the government is ready for talks whenever you want, at whichever hour of the day and for as much length of time that you wish to,” Singh said.

Singh invited protestors for a dialogue and proposed two locations for holding talks, viz. the residence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda or his office. “We are ready to discuss the issue on which the agitation has happened, and all the other related issues as well. The talks can be held with an open mind at the residence of Union Health Minister JP Nadda, and of course I will be accompanying him. The talks could be held at Nadda’s residence or at the office, or whichever of the two you wish to,” he proposed, adding that no solution can be reached without holding talks.
Union Minister JP Nadda also said that the government was open to holding talks with the protestors at his official residence or office.

Earlier in the day, PM Modi announced that the government has set up fast-track courts to try and punish the persons involved in the leak of the NEET examination.
On 22nd July, the Central government invited CJP protestors for a meeting at Union Minister JP Nadda’s residence; however, the CJP spokesperson Saurav Das refused the offer, saying that any meeting would either be held at Jantar Mantar or a neutral venue.

Das reiterated CJP’s stance on 23rd July, and said, “The government should keep aside its ego and walk up to the protesting students. They should come to Jantar Mantar or to a neutral place and hold talks. This kind of arrogance does not send a good message to the nation and the lakhs of protesters across Delhi and the country.”
