An MDS (Master’s in Dental Surgery) student was raped by a Muslim man named Danish after feeding her a sedative-laced pizza in the Gokul Vatika Apartments located in the Lalpur police station area of Ranhi, Jharkhand, on April 9, 2026. A case has been registered by the police against Danish and his two friends, Sadaab and Fawad. The police have arrested the accused Danish and are looking for the other two accused.
As per reports, the victim, a resident of Jamshedpur, has been living in a girls’ hostel located in the Bariatu area of Ranchi to pursue her studies. On the day of the incident, she was invited to a birthday party by a female friend of hers who told her that there would be many women at the party. The victim agreed to attend the party and was taken by her friend to the party venue. The victim’s friend took her to a flat on the fifth floor of Gokul Vatika Apartments.
On entering the flat, the victim saw that there were no other women in the house, and three men named Danish, Sadaab and Fawad were already present there. The victim said that after cutting the cake, Danish offered her pizza. She ate the pizza and started feeling dizzy. She went to a room take rest. However, she felt unconscious in the room, and Danish entered the room. He locked the door of the room she was in and raped her. He left the victim in the room unconscious and ran away.
The victim regained her senses the next morning and felt an unease in her body. She somehow managed to return to her hostel and informed a friend about the incident. The friend took her to a hospital, and a complaint was filed by the victim at the Lalpur police station.
Lalpur station in-charge Rupesh Kumar said that an investigation is going on in the matter. He said that the police are trying to ascertain whether the victim actually consumed a sedative.
