Nida Khan not an HR manager, Nashik site remains open, no POSH complaint was received: TCS issues statement on the sexual harassment case

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has issued an official statement over the sexual harassment case at its Nashik facility, saying that an accused employee is not an HR manager and that the unit remains fully operational. The company made the statement in a corporate filing with the National Stock Exchange of India (NSE) and Bombay Stock Exchange dated 17 April 2026.

In the regulatory corporate filing, TCS said that accused Nida Khan, who has been described as a manager or the head of the Human Resources department, was actually not related to the department, and she is a process associate without any leadership role.

TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director K. Krithivasan stated in the statement, “Ms. Nida Khan who is being repeatedly mentioned in the press as HR manager of TCS, is neither a HR manager nor responsible for recruitment. She served as a process associate and did not hold any leadership responsibilities.”

The company also refuted reports that its Nashik site has been shut down, and said that the facility remains open. “Our unit in Nashik continues to operate and serve our clients. Reports in the press about the unit being shut down are absolutely untrue,” the statement added. The reports had claimed that TCS has temporarily shut its Nashik BPO and shifted staff to work from home.

TCS also denied receiving any complaints related to any sexual harassment at its Nashik site, saying that a preliminary review of its systems and records at the Nashik unit had found no complaints of the type alleged through its ethics or Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) channels. The statement added, “While detailed reviews are still underway, a preliminary review of the systems and records pertaining to the Nashik unit indicates that we have not received any complaints of the nature that are being alleged on either our ethics or POSH channels.”

The company said that it has engaged the services of expert teams from Deloitte and a prominent law firm Trilegal, as independent counsel to the internal investigation led by Aarthi Subramanian, President and COO, TCS. The Tata group company has constituted an Oversight committee chaired by Keki Mistry, Independent Director of TCS. “The findings of the internal investigation will be presented to the Oversight committee, for review and implementation of any recommendations,” the statement said.

The company reiterated its zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion or misconduct and confirmed full cooperation with law enforcement agencies.

The statement emphasised TCS’s commitment to employee welfare, stating, “TCS holds itself to the highest standards of employee welfare and institutional conduct. We remain fully committed to the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of every employee. As we have stated before, we have a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of coercion or misconduct. We are focused on supporting our employees and ensuring a safe and respectful workplace across all our locations.” The company further added, “We continue to extend full cooperation to the law enforcement agencies so that the matter is investigated thoroughly, transparently and brought to a rightful conclusion.”
