Suvendu Adhikari holds first cabinet meeting: Land transfer to BSF for border fencing cleared. Here are six key decisions taken

Bengal’s new CM Suvendu Adhikari held his first cabinet meeting on May 11 on the 14th floor of the state administrative building Nabanna.

The CM has taken six key decisions in the first cabinet meeting.

He thanked the people of Bengal and the Election Commission of India for a ‘deathless, intimidation-free’ election in the state that has been known for political violence for decades.

The 321 BJP worked that had been killed by TMC goons over the years were paid tribute by the new cabinet. The CM stated that the victims of political violence won’t be forgotten and the government will take care of their families.

In a significant move on national security, the government decided to fast-track land transfer of about 600 acres to the Border Security Force (BSF) for completing the India-Bangladesh border fencing, setting a 45-day deadline for the process.

The previous West Bengal government had not allowed the Ayushman Bharat scheme to operate in the state. The new government has decided to implement the healthcare insurance scheme immediately. Central schemes like PM Jan Arogya Yojana, Fasal Yojana, PM Viswakarma, Beti Bachao Beti Padhao and all the others will also be implemented.

The Suvendu Adhikari government has also decided that IAS, IPS, and WBPS officers will be allowed for central training. Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita was not implemented in the state. West Bengal will implement BNS immediately.

A five-year age relaxation has been ordered for all candidates who have missed recruitment opportunities for government jobs in the state due to scams.

The new CM has stated that his government is committed to building a people-oriented and transparent administration. He insisted that the safety and peace of the people will be the first priority of the government.
