NEET UG 2026 paper leak: Kids and relatives of arrested Biwal brothers got govt medical college seats last year, questions raised on 2025 NEET too

The investigation into the NEET UG 2026 paper leak scandal has revealed that the leaked question paper reached Rajasthan through Yash Yadav, who knew Vikas Biwal, whose uncle Dinesh Biwal, scanned the hard copy of the ‘guess paper’ and made PDF files. It has now emerged that multiple children from the Biwal family who had secured second division in 12th standard, and 50% average marks in coaching, somehow scored over 90% in the NEET exam and secured government medical college seats.

Back in 2025, five members of the Biwal family cleared the NEET UG, a prestigious exam in which over 20 lakh students appear every year. The Biwal family made it to the media headlines, and congratulatory messages poured in. In fact, now-arrested Dinesh Biwal had even published a Facebook post boasting that five children from his family passed the NEET exam and secured MBBS seats in government medical colleges.

“It is a matter of great pride for my family that five of our children have been selected for a government medical college (MBBS). Hearty wishes to all the children for a bright future,” Biwal wrote.

Allegations have been made that Biwal had purchased a leaked NEET question paper in 2025 as well. The investigators are now verifying if the Biwal family children cleared the NEET exam without any malpractice or if their success was ‘purchased’.

Recently, the CBI arrested Mangilal Biwal, Vikas Biwal, and Dinesh Biwal from Jaipur, Yash Yadav from Gurugram, and Shubham Khairnar from Nashik.

Reports say that Mangilal Biwal’s son, Vikas, who cleared the NEET exam and secured a seat at the Sawai Madhopur Medical College, had obtained 63% in 10th grade 10 and 55 % in 12th grade. In the NEET 2024 exam, Mangilal’s son had scored a mere 270 out of 720. Vikas’s average score in 46 tests taken at a coaching centre in Sikar was 384.

In spite of this, Vikas somehow secured 85.11 percentile in NEET 2025. He is pursuing MBBS at Sawai Madhopur Medical College. Vikas is now arrested for alleged involvement in selling the leaked ‘guess paper’. The investigators have revealed that over Rs 65 lakh was paid to procure and distribute the NEET UG 2026 paper in advance.

Similar is the story of Mangilal’s daughter and Vikas’ sister Pragati, who got admission at the Dausa Medical College, and had received 69% in Class 10 and 91% in Class 12. Pragati scored 332 in NEET 2024.  Her average in the coaching test is reported to have been around 302. And yet, Pragati secured 89.08 percentile in NEET 2025.

Meanwhile, Dinesh Biwal’s daughter Gunjan got 86% in 10th grade and 70% in 12th. Gunjan scored 355 in NEET 2024. The arrested accused’s daughter averaged between 320 and 342 in coaching mock tests. Despite this, her dramatically high NEET UG 2025 score landed her at the Government Medical College in Varanasi.

Another Biwal brother, Ghanshyam’s daughter Sania, also got admission at a government medical college in Mumbai, while her coaching test average in Sikar was between 341 and 361. Her NEET 2024 score was just 360. However, in NEET 2025, Sania secured a massive 94.07 percentile.

The only aspirant from the Biwal family to have consistently scored above average marks is Ghanshyam Biwal’s other daughter, Palak Biwal. She got 93% in 10th grade, 89% in 12th grade, 512 marks in NEET 2024 and averaged between 515 and 550 in coaching mock tests. In NEET 2025, Palak secured a 98.61 percentile, based on which, she got admission at a government medical college in Jaipur.

Reports say that Yash Yadav knew Vikas Biwal, whose uncle Dinesh Biwal scanned the hard copy of the question paper and made PDF files. The accused had handwritten the question paper and then scanned it. He then disseminated the question paper among students in various coaching centres in Sikar, Rajasthan. However, Yash Yadav, a student of the Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medical Sciences, did not clear the exam.

Shubham Khairnar, Dhananjay Lokhande and Manisha Waghmare are three other accused who have been linked to the paper leak network. Khairnar is himself a medical student and the son of a doctor, while Lokhande’s brother is a doctor, and Waghmare’s husband is a dentist. These people allegedly were linked with an admission counsellor’s network that moved lakhs of rupees for question papers.

When the CBI officials questioned the owners and students at various coaching institutes, it was revealed that the students paid between ₹2 lakh and ₹5 lakh to access the question paper. Meanwhile, the accused Shubham Khairnar denied being the mastermind behind the paper leak. The CBI has been trying to trace the source of the paper leak in the case, while also verifying the money trail.

Initially, the case was being investigated by Rajasthan’s Special Operations Group (SOG), which traced the origins of a guess paper containing questions similar to those asked in the exam to a student from the Sikar district. He was pursuing an MBBS in Kerala and went on to share it with his friends and a hostel owner. Later, the investigation of the case was handed over to the CBI at the direction of the government. Based on a written complaint received from the Department of Higher Education under the Ministry of Education relating to the paper leak, the CBI registered a case on 12th May.
