Uttar Pradesh: Yogi government to organise ‘Nipun Sankalp Workshops’ across all districts to improve learning outcomes in schools

In a major step towards reforming education in the state, the Yogi Adityanath government in Uttar Pradesh is planning to make the Nipun Bharat Mission more effective and result-oriented. For this purpose, the government will organise ‘Nipun Sankalp Workshops’ across all districts of the state during the month of July. The workshops will help in strengthening foundational literacy and numeracy while improving learning outcomes in schools.

The Nipun Sankalp Workshops will be organised at 33 centres across the state from July 6 to July 31, 2026. Academic officials and experts from various districts will participate in these workshops. The initiative is part of the Yogi government’s ongoing educational reforms in the state, which aim at providing better learning opportunities for millions of children.

In the workshops, detailed discussions will be organised on several topics, including the strategy for the 2026-27 academic session, ‘Nipun Vidyalaya’ (Proficient School) targets, school quality improvement, Nipun 2.0, the operation of ‘Balvatika’ (early childhood education centres), and action plans for data-driven monitoring. The workshops will feature in-depth deliberations on the academic strategy for the 2026-27 session, the prescribed academic calendar, school-level activities, and ‘Nipun Vidyalaya’ targets.

The workshops also cover topics such as the review of departmental priorities, effective use of the AIPF SAC portal, enhanced coordination between BEOs and ARPs, action plans for school quality improvement, and the provision of effective feedback to teachers. This will help strengthen academic leadership and ensure quality teaching in schools.

In addition to that, a strategy to enhance academic quality will be formulated by bringing together District Basic Education Officers, Block Education Officers, DIET Principals, ARPs, SRGs, DIET mentors, and District Coordinators on a common platform. The findings from the PARAKH national survey will be reviewed during the workshops to improve learning outcomes.

Emphasis will also be placed on setting annual targets at the district, block, and school levels, conducting regular reviews, and strengthening data-driven monitoring systems. The discussions in the workshops will also cover target-based teaching for classes 3 to 5 (proposed under the expansion of the Nipun Bharat Mission), a 10-point toolkit for effective classroom instruction, catch-up teaching, and proposed enhancements to the ‘Nipun Plus’ initiative.

Furthermore, strategies will be devised for the effective operation of ‘Balvatika’ and the implementation of a structured teaching methodology, based on teacher manuals, for classes 1 to 5, to further strengthen the children’s foundational learning. The Yogi government intends to ensure continuous assessment of learning outcomes in every school, enabling the timely implementation of corrective measures.
