Prayagraj: Sahil Khan poses as Prince on Instagram to trap Hindu girl, impregnates and abuses her after marriage; victim dies, body exhumed after family accuses him of murder

Sahil Khan from Prayagraj trapped a Hindu woman in a relationship by concealing his identity and married her, reported Dainik Bhaskar. He then proceeded to assault her, and the victim’s ordeal met a tragic end with her death. Notably, her family was made aware of her passing nearly a month after the occurrence, and the body was exhumed after 35 days for autopsy by authorities. The family has accused Sahil of murdering their daughter.

20-year-old Goldie Saket worked at a biscuit factory in Hyderabad. She was from Tamri village in the Govindgarh police station area of Madhya Pradesh’s Rewa. 22-year-old Sahil Khan, a native of Jari Bazaar in the Kaundhiyara police station area of Prayagraj in Uttar Pradesh, was also employed at a tailor shop in the same locality in Hyderabad. He befriended Goldie 3 years ago by introducing himself as Prince on Instagram. Their relationship gradually evolved into romance, and he married her in a temple in Hyderabad 6 months ago.

Sahil then secured a job in Gujarat’s Surat, and the two moved there. Meanwhile, Goldie discovered her husband’s true identity, and an argument ensued between them. However, he later married her according to Islamic rituals in a mosque in the presence of a Maulvi. Afterwards, she became pregnant in February, and he brought her to Prayagraj.

The accused subjected the young woman to physical assault, prompting her to flee to her parental home. Her mother recounted that he arrived at their place in April, pleaded with them and took Goldie back with him. However, he destroyed her SIM to stop her from reaching out to them immediately after their departure from the house.

“On 6th June, we received the tragic news that my daughter had been murdered. We proceeded to the police station to file a complaint against the culprits and learned that she had actually passed away on 10th May and they had buried her,” the grieving woman added. On 16th June, the authorities exhumed the decomposed body from the grave and sent it for a post-mortem examination. However, the doctors did not specify the cause of death in the report.

The deceased’s younger sister, Seetu, accused Sahil of having deceived Goldie by hiding his identity, married her under false pretences, and later took her life. She suspected a conspiracy and demanded a thorough investigation into the incident.

On the other hand, the Muslim man alleged that his wife fell ill on 10th May, after which the family took her to a private hospital, but her condition deteriorated, and she was shifted to SRN (Swaroop Rani Nehru) Hospital, where she passed away. On 11th May, they performed her last rites per Islamic traditions and laid her to rest in the graveyard.

Assistant Commissioner of Police (Bara) Ved Vyas Mishra has indicated that an extensive probe is underway in response to a complaint lodged by the victim’s family. Sahil’s family members have been questioned. According to his mother, Goldie was pregnant and suddenly fell ill. The former claimed, “She experienced vomiting and diarrhoea. After her initial treatment at a local hospital, she was taken to SRN Hospital, where she unfortunately died. Sahil was in Surat at the time.”
