On Monday (29th June), West Bengal Chief Minister Suvendu Adhikari issued a stern warning to Humayun Kabir in the State Assembly.’
“The time has come to teach such people a lesson. Mamata Banerjee is no longer your Chief Minister. Earlier, you had a weak Chief Minister, and hence, you could get away with doing and saying whatever you wanted,” he stated.
Adhikari pointed out, “I want to tell you that 2 FIRs have been registered. I want to let you know that no one has given you the power to do any of these.”

The West Bengal Chief Minister had described the comments of Humayun Kabir as “objectionable, communal, anti-social and anti-State.”

He had also read out the exact statement made by Humayun Kabir during a political event on Saturday (27th June).
Humayun had threatened, “I had told Suvendu Adhikari that it is good that you and your party formed the government in the State, but back down in Murshidabad. When I hit the street with my Muslim supporters, then, violence will spill out in such a way that there will be none to carry your flags.”

“I will bring lakhs of people on the road, thrash you and go to jail. I will see how long you can keep us in jail. We will see. When the limit is crossed, and I get angry, I will not understand who the SP or the Chief Minister is. I will not bother to understand anything else,” he had threatened.
Humayun Kabir also mocked the West Bengal government, saying that the strength of the central jail is to hold a maximum of 4800 prisoners and that he would bring lakhs on the streets.
