On 9th August 2026, a Hyderabad-based influencer, Siddeshwari Sugandh, also known as Siddhi, shared a video on her Instagram page, which showed a man riding a Suzuki Burgman without a proper vehicle number near Charminar in Telangana, allegedly harassing her and offering an unsolicited ride. When confronted by the influencer, the man said that he is a Rapido driver and his name is Mohammad Irfan.

Sensing that something was off, Sugandh said she immediately started recording the fake Rapido driver. When Siddeshwari Sugandh asked Irfan for his Rapido ID, he deflected, saying, “Aapko jhut bolkar kya karunga madam mein (What would I gain by lying to you, Madam)?”
In the video, the man asked the influencer, “Where are you going? Shall I drop you?” In response, Siddeshwari Sugandh questioned Irfan’s credentials and asked him to show an ID card, as he claimed to be a Rapido driver. However, the man who claimed his name was Irfan grew hesitant to show his identity card. To back his lies, Irfan began downloading the Rapido application from the Google Play Store.
“Woh bandha aage aakar mujhe bol raha hai ki main drop kardu kya jab ki uno koi Rapido driver nahi hai (this guy, who isn’t even a Rapido driver, came up to me and asked if he could drop me off),” Sugandh said.
Irfan’s scooter had a number plate with only two letters “TG”, while the real registration number was missing. “How are you driving without a number?” the influencer asked.
Responding to this, he said, “Chala lete madam, zyaada nahi chalate kabhi kabhi ghar ku jaate waqt (I do drive, Madam; I don’t drive much—just occasionally on the way home).”
Taking to her Instagram page, which has around 128k followers, Siddeshwari Sugandh revealed that she was enquiring about an auto rickshaw in the bustling Charminar area at around 9 PM on 9th August, when a man who claimed to be Irfan approached her.
“Yesterday, around 9 PM, I was waiting for my auto near Charminar when this guy came up to me with his vehicle and asked, “Where are you going? Should I drop you?” The moment I heard that, I started recording him. I noticed that there was no vehicle number displayed, so I asked him, “Why don’t you have a vehicle number? He told me he was a Rapido driver, so I asked him for his Rapido ID. Instead of showing me his driver ID, he started downloading the Rapido app from the Play Store. That’s when I realized something was clearly not right,” Siddeshwari Sugandh aka Siddhi recounted.
Clarifying that she has nothing against Rapido, Siddeshwari Sugandh highlighted that the stalker invoked Rapido’s name to gain her trust.
Siddhi further expressed shock over the audacity and confidence of the man to approach her at around 9 PM and offer a ride without any booking or verification. “What honestly shocked me was the confidence with which he approached a woman at 9 PM and offered her a ride without prior booking or verification,” she said.
The video of the incident went viral online, and people demanded that the man seen in the video be identified and arrested.
Hours later, Siddeshwari Sugandh published another video, wherein she said that the name of the alleged stalker she confronted is not Irfan but Mirza. She added that Mirza works as a bouncer in various clubs across Hyderabad.
