Uttar Pradesh: Parvez beheads his wife of 12 years over suspicion of cheating, later surrenders before the police

On Wednesday (16th September), a 28-year-old woman identified as Nagma was beheaded by her husband, Parvez, in the Islamnagar Tiliya locality of Hardoi, Uttar Pradesh. The accused carried out the crime when the victim was asleep in her rented house.

According to reports, Parvez went directly to the local police station after committing the crime and surrendered. He was thereafter arrested by the police.

It has come to light that the duo was married for nearly 12 years. Parvez suspected that his wife was cheating on him with another man on the phone. Their relationship had been strained for a while and would often lead to arguments.

On Wednesday, he attacked her with a sharp-edged weapon repeatedly and severed her head. According to Nagma’s sister Sabbo, the victim was regularly subjected to threats and physical abuse.

According to her, Parvez had threatened to slit Nagma’s throat in the run-up to the murder. Family members of the victim have claimed that the accused’s family was present in the house at the time of the crime.

Nagma’s mother Zahida said that the victim faced intimidation and harassment at the hands of the accused and his parents. The body of the victim has been sent for post-mortem.

In the meantime, the police are interrogating Parvez and attempting to recover the weapon used in the crime.
