A female head constable of the Delhi Police has accomplished a feat that has brought smiles back to the families of several missing children. Posted in the Jaitpur area of the South-East district, Head Constable Chanchal has successfully located 119 missing children and reunited them with their families. Furthermore, she is also working to trace 16 other missing individuals.
According to Delhi police, the recoveries were made between November 2025 and October 2026. Out of 119 children, 41 were below 14 years of age, while 78 were between 14 and 18.
Officials said Chanchal’s work involved developing intelligence, using technical assistance, planning investigations and persistently following up on each case. She also coordinated with child care homes, NGOs and Child Welfare Committees across Delhi-NCR and other states to identify and trace the children. Beyond the missing children, she also traced 16 other missing persons during the same period.
Police said her investigative skills and coordination with multiple agencies played a crucial role in identifying and safely tracing vulnerable children. Her efforts also helped protect minors from exploitation and trafficking, officials added.

The South-East District Police described Chanchal’s achievement as an example of humanitarian policing and a matter of pride for the district. Officials said her work showed how persistence, coordination and attention to individual cases can make a real difference to families waiting for information about their loved ones.
For the families involved, each recovery means more than a police statistic. It means a child returning home, parents no longer wondering where their son or daughter is, and families beginning to rebuild their lives. Police said Chanchal’s sustained efforts reflected the force’s focus on tracing missing children and ensuring their safe reunion with their families.
