On 13th July (local time), an assassination attempt on former United States President Donald Trump shook the world. Though Trump is safe, a bullet pierced his ear leading to blood flowing on his face. Photographs and videos of the incident went viral on social media. The incident took place at Trump’s rally in Butler, Pennsylvania. He was immediately escorted off stage by US Secret Service agents and taken away in a motorcade. While the world leaders condemned the assassination attempt, US media tried to downplay the incident.

While media houses downplayed the assassination attempt, several journalists and X users on social media platforms expressed dismay that Trump was alive. A screenshot was shared by Libs of TikTok on X where The Stranger’s journalist Ashley Nerbovig wrote, “Make America aim again”. Ashley later locked and then deactivated her account.

Libs Of Tiktok also shared two videos of leftist screaming over the assassin missing the “target”. Tiktok user Cele2t3 screamed her lungs out while crying over the missed assassination. Her TikTok account has either been deleted or deactivated.

Another TikTok user Super99x expressed similar behaviour. His account has been turned to “private” on TikTok.

The bullet fired at Donald Trump pierced the upper part of his right ear. Trump was immediately escorted off stage by US Secret Service agents and taken to a hospital. In a statement, the US Secret Service said that a suspected shooter fired multiple shots towards the stage from an elevated position outside of the rally venue during Trump’s campaign rally in Butler on July 13 at 6:15 pm.

The attacker has been identified as Thomas Matthew Crooks, a 20-year-old from Bethel Park, Pennsylvania. He was neutralised by security forces after he fired multiple shots from an AR-15-type semiautomatic rifle.

One person in the rally died in the incident, and two others were seriously injured.

A shocking case of love jihad has come to light where a 16-year-old girl from Jaunpur was married in Bareilly, reported Dainik Bhaskar. The victim and the accused worked together in Himachal Pradesh where he introduced himself as a Hindu. She stated that “Aman” even wore a sacred thread around his wrist (kalawa) and applied tilak on his forehead. He brought her to Bareilly under the guise of marriage. Aman kept the victim in his house as a wife for around ten days and sexually assaulted her. However, she learned later that the young man was a Muslim and his father gave her a new name.

The girl somehow managed to escape from their clutches and reached the police station with the help of a passerby and complained to the authorities. She is a resident of a village in the Sarpataha police station area of ​​​​Jaunpur district. She revealed, “I used to work with my brother in Himachal Pradesh’s Sirmaur and during this time I met a man named Aman from Bareilly. I am a minor and hence could not marry legally. Aman promised me marriage and claimed to be Hindu. I told him that my family would not agree to this. However, he deceived me and brought me to his house in Bareilly.”

She gave a written complaint at Bithri Chainpur police station on 13th July and disclosed, “On 1st July Aman took me to his village in Bareilly and formed a physical relationship with me as he treated me as his spouse.” However, she discovered his reality after arriving in his village and found out that he had befriended her by concealing his identity. Afterwards, his father tried to force her to embrace Islam. He declared that she would have to become a Muslim now.

The victim added, “I felt homesick and started missing my parents. I then managed to flee from there at night and on the way, a person helped me to reach the police station.” She has demanded legal action against the perpetrator. The rural Superintendent of Police Mukesh Chandra Mishra conveyed that an investigation is being conducted into the matter and further action will be taken after the probe.

Donald Trump was on stage at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania’s Butler before gunshots rang out and Secret Service agents stormed the stage, The Hill reported.

The Secret Service agents surrounded the Republican candidate and escorted him off the stage, with blood visible across his face. He raised his fist towards the crowd as he was escorted away by law enforcement personnel.

According to the US Secret Service’s statement, one spectator was killed and another was critically injured and the incident is being investigated. The US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now dead. Hours after the shooting, Donald Trump said that the bullet pierced the upper part of his ear.

US Representative Mike Collins has called for filing charges against US President Joe Biden for inciting an assassination.

In a post on X, Collins stated, “The Republican District Attorney in Butler County, PA, should immediately file charges against Joseph R Biden for inciting an assassination.”

Indian-American entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy condemned the attack on Donald Trump, terming it “unacceptable” and urging Americans to unite around the truth that whatever happened on Saturday was unacceptable. He said that he and his wife mourn for the spectator at the rally who was killed by the shooter.

In a post on X, Ramaswamy stated, “First they sued him. Then they prosecuted him. Then they tried to take him off the ballot. The only thing more tragic than what just happened is that, if we’re being honest, it wasn’t totally a shock. Biden’s inevitable ritual condemnation of political violence today (when it comes) will be insufficient and irrelevant. No amount of verbiage today changes the toxic national climate that led to this tragedy.”

“Apoorva (Ramaswamy’s wife) and I mourn for the rally attendee who was apparently killed by the shooter. We believe the fact that President Trump is safe right now is nothing short of an act of God. My heart tells me God intervened not just for Trump, but for our nation. Today, the future survival of the United States of America came down to less than a hair’s width in the path of a bullet. If any good comes of today, let it be this: Americans just had the chance to see our next President’s true character, unvarnished. He took the fire, he took the hit, he felt the blood, and then he stood right back up for the people he was put here to lead. He even invoked the words of Thomas Jefferson. Condemning the shooting incident at Trump’s rally in Pennsylvania, former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley said that violence against presidential candidates must not be normalised.

In a post on X, Nikki Haley stated, “This should horrify every freedom loving American. Violence against presidential candidates must never be normalised. We are lifting up Donald Trump, the entire Trump family, and all in attendance in prayer.”

Earlier, Donald Trump, in his first account of being shot at during a rally in Pennsylvania, said that the bullet fired at him “pierced” the upper part of his right ear. He thanked the US Secret Service and law enforcement for their rapid response to the shooting that just took place in Pennsylvania’s Butler. He offered condolences to the family of a person who was killed at the rally and the person who was injured.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump stated, “I want to thank The United States Secret Service, and all of Law Enforcement, for their rapid response on the shooting that just took place in Butler, Pennsylvania. Most importantly, I want to extend my condolences to the family of the person at the Rally who was killed, and also to the family of another person that was badly injured.”

“It is incredible that such an act can take place in our Country. Nothing is known at this time about the shooter, who is now dead. I was shot with a bullet that pierced the upper part of my right ear. I knew immediately that something was wrong in that I heard a whizzing sound, shots, and immediately felt the bullet ripping through the skin. Much bleeding took place, so I realized then what was happening. GOD BLESS AMERICA,” he added.

Speaking to CBS News, law enforcement sources said that the suspect was shooting with an AR-style rifle from 200-300 feet away. According to law enforcement sources, the gunman was on top of a shed outside the security perimeter set up by the Secret Service.

On Saturday (13th July), the security personnel at the Jio World Convention Centre in Mumbai apprehended a man named Luqman Mohammad Shafi Shaikh while trying to gatecrash the wedding of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant.

A businessman by occupation, Shaikh was caught during a routine check at about 2:40 am on the first floor of the wedding venue. He had illegally entered the premises through the Gate No 10.

On being interrogated by the security personnel, the accused failed to prove that he had an invitation. Thereafter, he was handed over to the security manager.

Despite being asked to leave the premises, Luqman Shaikh refused to comply with the orders. Thereafter, he was handed over to the Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC) police.

While speaking about the matter to The Indian Express, an officer informed, “A security guard found that he was suspiciously roaming, following which they checked whether he had an invitation. But as he did not have one, he was handed over to the security manager. He revealed that he is from Palghar and had illegally entered from gate number 10.”

He was thereafter booked by the cops for gatecrashing the wedding. Shaikh later admitted that he entered the premises of the Jio World Convention Centre out of curiosity.

A day earlier, a YouTuber from Andhra Pradesh named Venkatesh Narsaiah Aluri (26) illegally entered the wedding venue. He was caught roaming around Pavilion 1 of the Jio World Convention Centre at 10:40 am on Friday (12th July).

Aluri gained illegal entry from Gate No. 19 after having failed to do so from Gate No. 23. He was asked to leave but the YoutUber refused to comply. He resorted to harassing the security personnel instead. Thereafter, he was booked by the BKC police and taken to the police station.

Reasi Terrorist Attack on Hindu Pilgrims: Local cattle trader Hakam Din provided food, shelter, and logistics to terrorists, got Rs 5,000 for the support: Details

On 9th June, terrorists attacked a bus of Hindu pilgrims in Reasi, Jammu and Kashmir. Nine pilgrims were killed in the attack and several others were injured. During investigation into the attack, the agencies have found that a local resident, identified as 45-year-old Hakam Din, helped the terrorists from Pakistan with logistic support after the attack. He was paid Rs 5,000 for the same.

The investigation agencies have prepared sketches of two more terrorists based on the information provided by Hakam Din. Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has transferred the investigation from Jammu and Kashmir police to National Investigation Agency in the case.

Hakam Din is a resident of district Rajouri. He was arrested by the police on 20th June. Reportedly, he used to work as a porter at Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine but left the job three years ago and became a cattle trader. Senior Superintendent of Police Mohita Sharma deemed Hakam as a “prime militant associate” before the investigation was handed over to NIA.

Following his arrest, Hakam Din was interrogated by several agencies. Indian Express quoted an unnamed source familiar with the development saying, “He claims he first met the terrorists around 5.30 PM on 1st June, when they knocked on his door and asked him to prepare food for three people. One of them was referring to another as ‘Manzoor bhai’. They asked him to bring food to their shelter in a forest.” Notably, during interrogation by NIA, Hakam Din revealed that LeT terrorists were behind the attack.

The source added, “On 7th June, the three terrorists again visited his house, and asked him to accompany them for a recce to Pouni, where the attack took place. They were there for around three and a half hours. They sat in different spots to pick a strategic location for the attack, and to identify the slope of the road where the vehicle would slow down. They marked these locations before leaving. They also asked Hakam about the movement of tourist buses.”

On the next day, the terrorists again visited his house for tea and discussed the attack. The source said, “They left with food. On 9th June, they returned to their marked locations and waited for a specific bus carrying pilgrims. They first targeted the driver and did not stop firing even after he lost control of the bus, which plummeted into a gorge.”

Following the attack, terrorists paid Hakam Rs 5,000 and asked for his help to escape. They also took his Aadhaar card. The source added, “With the help of the description provided by him, we have prepared two new sketches of the attackers and shared them with central investigation agencies. Based on his questioning, we suspect the terrorists infiltrated from across the Line of Control and are still hiding in the dense forests.”

Terrorist attack on Hindu pilgrim bus in Reasi

On 9th June, nine people were killed and 41 injured when terrorists opened fire at a 53-seater bus, which was on its way from the Shiv Khori temple to the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine in Katra. This caused the bus to veer off the road and fall into a deep gorge in Reasi. The Reasi attack was followed by two other back-to-back terror attacks in the valley, the Kathua terror attack and the Doda terror attack.

On 13th June, as many as 50 people were detained in connection with the recent terrorist attack on a pilgrims’ bus in the Kanda area of Jammu and Kashmir’s Reasi. The SSP also revealed that the search operations were extended to Arnas and Mahore to uncover more evidence and apprehend any terrorists in hiding.

Notably, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) took over the investigation into the Reasi terror attack case on June 15 on orders from the Union Home Ministry.

On 9th July, it was reported that NIA established that handlers of the Pakistan-based banned terrorist group Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) were involved in the ambush. NIA interrogated Hakim Din who revealed LeT’s hand in the attack.

US Secret Service personnel neutralized the shooter, who is now deceased.”

US Secret Service quickly responded with protective measures and the former president is safe and being evaluated. One spectator was killed, two spectators were critically injured. The incident is currently under investigation and the Secret Service has formally notified the Federal Bureau of investigation,” it added.

Indicating another crime against women in West Bengal, the body of a woman was found buried by one of the busiest roads in the heart of Kolkata city. On Saturday afternoon, the half-naked body of a woman was found buried on Kashi Bose Lane in Ward 17 of Kolkata. The victim has not been identified yet and the police have launched a probe.

As per reports, a rotting smell was coming from the crossing of Kashi Bose Lane and Bidhan Sarani at ward no 17 of Shyampukur assembly under North Kolkata district since the morning. When the stink intensified by afternoon, the locals informed the local councillor and the police. After that, the area was excavated by the police, and the half-naked body of a woman that had started to rot was recovered at around 3.45 PM during this excavation.

Only a t-shirt was found on the victim’s body, with exposed bottoms.

How the woman’s body got here is unclear. The police recovered the body and sent it for post-mortem and started the investigation.

Notably, the road was dug a few days ago for works on a water pipeline, which ended on 10th July. According to workers, the trench was covered after the work was completed, and they didn’t see anything at that time. The road was paved after the water pipe line work was completed.

As per reports, the body is not very old, and it is estimated the victim died 2-3 days ago. Therefore, it is possible that someone killed her and then buried her in the trench which was just covered by workers. Given that the body was found half naked, it is being speculated to be a case of rape and murder.

Some people speculated that the woman may have fallen into the hole and drowned as it was filled with wated due to rains. However, a worker who worked in the pipeline project said that even though there was a hole, it is not possible for anyone to fall into it.

The police said that they will examine the footage captured by several CCTV cameras present at the spot. The probe teams will also all missing woman reports in the area. The photo of the woman has been sent to all the neighboring police stations.

BJP has slammed the Mamata Banerjee government over the incident, with Amit Malviya saying that “West Bengal is a living hell hole for women.” He said that body was dug out after it started to stink, and asked “What was Kolkata Police doing other than help Mamata Bannerjee rig Manicktala by-poll”.

On the other hand, Deputy Mayor Atin Ghosh accepted the administrative failure in the case. However, he denied any crime angle and claimed that the woman died after falling into the hole dug for water supply work.

He said, “Water supply work is going on. A woman fell. The ground was soft and fell on him. Nobody saw it! I can see nothing but administrative weakness. I cannot deny that there is administrative failure.”

While police have just started the probe and even the postmortem report is not out which may reveal assault, the TMC leader has already declared to be a accident case. Moreover, the fact that the woman was half-naked points towards a strong possibility of sexual assault.

He further said that BJP is with neither with BRS nor with the Congress and is instead with the people.

Reddy pointed out that BRS and Congress are one. They have also made alliances earlier. We saw leaders jumping from Congress to BRS earlier. Now we see vice versa. Congress is acting now, just like BRS acted while they were in power. Whoever wins in BRS joins Congress and whoever wins in Congress joins BRS. There is no difference between Gandhi Bhavan and Telangana Bhavan. Both parties support family rule.

Reddy further alleged that the Congress government is “looting” people in the state today just like the BRS used to “loot” during its tenure.

PM Modi unveiled multiple projects related to the road, railways and ports sector in Maharashtra.

“Maharashtra has a glorious history, Maharashtra has a strong present and Maharashtra has dreams of a prosperous future. Maharashtra is a state which has a very big role in building a developed India. Maharashtra has the power of industry, Maharashtra has the power of agriculture, Maharashtra has the power of the finance sector. This power has made Mumbai the financial hub of the country. Now my goal is to use this power of Maharashtra to make Maharashtra the biggest economic powerhouse of the world. My goal is to make Mumbai the fintech capital of the world,” he said.

“People know that it is the NDA government that can give stability and durability. After taking oath for the third time, I had said that the NDA government will work at thrice the speed,” he added.

PM Modi also spoke about a huge skill development project for the youth of Maharashtra which will further boost employment opportunities in the state.

The Prime Minister mentioned Vadhavan port which was recently approved by the central government. “The 76,000-crore rupees project will create more than 10 lakh jobs,” he said.

Touching upon the investor mood in Mumbai in the last one month, the Prime Minister said that both small and big investors have enthusiastically welcomed the third term of the BJP-led NDA government. He noted that a stable government will work with triple speed in its third term.

Elaborating on the high aspirations of the Indian citizens in the 21st century, PM Modi reiterated the resolve for Viksit Bharat in the next 25 years. He emphasized the role of Mumbai and Maharashtra in this journey.

“It is our goal that quality of life goes up for everyone in Mumbai and Maharashtra. We are trying to improve the connectivity in the nearby areas of Mumbai”, he said. He mentioned the completion of the coastal road and Atal Setu. He informed that about 20,000 vehicles are using Atal Setu daily, saving an estimated Rs 20-25 lakh worth of fuel.

The metro system, he said, is developing rapidly in Mumbai as the length of the Metro line increased from 8 km a decade ago to 80 km today and work is going on the 200 km metro network.

“Transformation of Indian Railways benefitting Mumbai and Maharashtra in a big way”, PM Modi said as he mentioned the redevelopment of Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus and Nagpur station.

Unknown miscreants threw stones at the Bhusaval-Nandurbar passenger train on Friday, causing tensions in the Jalgaon region of Maharashtra. According to reports, the passengers were thrown into a frenzy when the mob assembled near the railroad tracks and began tossing stones at the train. Afterwards, the Government Railway Police (GRP) submitted a charge of jeopardizing the safety of passengers against anonymous individuals based on a video that went viral showing the stone-pelting on 12th July at 10 am. The video went viral on social media, bringing attention to the incident.

A huge crowd including women wearing Islamic headcovers was seen outside the train in the widely shared social media footage, and some of the passengers in the general coach were seen freaking out as some stones fell inside. The train was still moving as a woman speaking in Marathi urged everyone to lock the windows as a precaution. Fearful passengers were also observed trying to get off the train and their terrifying screams can also be heard.

“RPF (Railway Protection Force) in charge of Amalner initiated an inquiry by registering a case against unknown persons under Railway Act 154. Amalner GRP has also been informed about the incident for necessary legal action.” informed the Divisional Railway Manager. Western Railway’s chief public relations officer, Vineet Abhishek, stated that a significant number of passengers left Bhusawal early on Friday morning to attend a religious ceremony in Bhortek. There were also RPF personnel on the train.

The RPF lodged a complaint against the anonymous people after the widely shared video showed stone throwing on the same train. The officer added that no commuter had filed a written complaint about the problem and there had been no reports of injuries along the route. As of right now, the six RPF officers on the train have not disclosed any information regarding the occurrence. The RPF will carry out a thorough investigation and provide a detailed report. The Railway Police have also been instructed to use extra caution to ensure the safety of the passengers.

Locals and travellers both are frustrated by the daily commuter train’s constant delays. Additionally, senior police personnel at the Marwad police station, under whose jurisdiction the instance was reported have not yet acknowledged the stone-pelting till now. The authorities claimed that they were looking into the reported occurrence on their own.

According to other reports, the incident happened at eleven in the morning, barely ten minutes after the train departed the station. Hundreds of devotees flocked to the Urus celebration, which takes place on the hill at Dhar in the Amalner taluka. After boarding the train, they pulled a chain to descend the hill when the instance transpired.

An episode of stone-pelting on a MEMU train from Gwalior to Jaura was recorded in April 2024. The incident happened when the train arrived at Gwalior’s Birla Nagar station. Notably, stone attacks on the Vande Bharata Express and Shatabdi Express around Gwalior-Morena had earlier been reported as well. Likewise, the “Aastha Special” train, which carried 1,344 Hindu devotees, departed Surat in February for Ayodhya also came under attack. The train was started by the government in observance of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. There was a stone-throwing incident just before the train arrived at Nandurbar Station. An investigation into the situation was then started by the Railway Protection Force (RPF) and Government Railway Police (GRP).
