On 22nd June, the Globe and Mail published a report on Khalistani terrorist Hardeep Singh Nijjar whose murder was remembered with a minute of silence in Canadian Parliament. In the report, the news portal explained how Nijjar was not only involved in running terrorist camps but also visited Pakistan, was on the no-fly list in Canada, had contacts with Khalistani terrorists and was involved in anti-India activities.

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was a controversial figure. He was designated as a Khalistani terrorist by the Government of India. He was killed on 18th June 2023 in a possible gang war. However, the Canadian government blamed the Government of India and Indian agents for killing him. Notably, four persons who were arrested in his murder case in May 2024 were associated with the Lawrance Bishnoi Gang.

Nijjar was a Sikh separatist leader who propagated the demand for a separate Sikh nation, Khalistan. He was living in Surrey, British Columbia Canada and was chief of Guru Nanak Gurdwara.

Early life and influence of Khalistani terrorist

Hardeep Singh Nijjar was born in Punjab in the 1970s. During his early life, his family used to provide shelter and food to Khalistani terrorists who were on the run from the law enforcement agencies. Globe and Mail talked to his associates and old friends who confirmed that Nijjar was highly influenced by Khalistani ideology and supported a separate Sikh nation.

In 1995, then-Chief Minister of Punjab, Beant Singh, was killed in a bomb blast. Following the assassination of the CM and 17 others by Khalistani terrorists, the law enforcement agencies came down heavy on the terrorists and their supporters. Nijjar escaped India and fled to Canada using the fake identity of a Hindu man. Ravi Sharma was the name on his passport. Reports revealed that he had trimmed his hair and beard to look like a Hindu man and conceal his Sikh identity.

After reaching Canada, he tried to get refugee status claiming he was tortured by the state police. However, as he consistently denied any involvement in Khalistani activities or association with armed terrorists, the immigration agencies did not provide him with refugee status. However, he continued to live in Canada and eventually was provided permanent residency followed by citizenship.

Life in Canada and association with Khalistani activities

With time, Nijjar became a significant figure within the local Sikh community. He ran a small plumbing business and became an active member of Guru Nanak Sikh Gurdwara. Over the years, he developed deep relations with pro-Khalistani elements and got involved in anti-India activities.

In 2015, he was accused of running a terror training camp in British Columbia, a claim that he had denied. However, an investigation was initiated against him by the RCMP but he was never charged. RCMP officials claimed while speaking to Globe and Mail that if he was associated with any terror activities, they would have taken action against him.

Khalistan advocacy

Nijjar wanted a separate Sikh state, Khalistan in India. He repeatedly called for violence and armed revolt against Indian authorities. Globe and Mail got access to a video from 2021 in which he urged Sikhs to take up arma and criticised those who preferred peaceful activism. This stance solidified his reputation as a dangerous figure in the eyes of the Indian government. However, his supporters argue that his rhetoric was a reflection of the warrior imagery prevalent in Sikh culture rather than actual incitement to violence.

Nijjar was a close associate of Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, a Khalistani terrorist and founder of the terrorist organisation Sikhs For Justice. Pannun poses as an advocate and practices law in New York. He was Nijjar’s counsel as well. Nijjar actively promoted the Khalistan Referendum that was initiated by Sikhs For Justice. Khalistan Referendum is a mock voting campaign initiated by Sikhs For Justice to show how many Sikhs around the world support the call for a separate Sikh nation.

India’s allegations against Hardeep Singh Nijjar

India has accused Nijjar of involvement in several violent incidents, including the 2007 bombing of a cinema in Ludhiana and an attempted murder in 2021. National Investigation Agency has named him in the case of the attempted murder of Hindu leader Kamaldeep Sharma.

In 2015, Indian agencies apprehended Mandeep Singh Dhaliwal who was a Surrey resident during his visit to India. A few days later, it was revealed that he was associated with a Khalistani terror training camp in Canada. He told Punjab police during interrogation that he had plans to carry out terror activities in Punjab and was sent by Nijjar to attack leaders of Sects. Furthermore, he informed the police that he was working with another terrorist to get arms and ammunition from Pakistan.

Globe and Mail talked to two people associated with Dhaliwal. They told on the condition of anonymity that Dhaliwal attended an arms training camp in 2015. Furthermore, five other Sikh radicals also took training at those camps. They were trained by Nijjar to operate weapons and GPS. They also learned how to communicate securely and did target practice at three different sites in the Lower Mainland.

Nijjar was also linked to gangster-turned-terrorist Arshdeep Singh Gill or Arsh Dala. He is the head of the Dala Lakhbir gang which uses Canada as a base for running an extortion ring in Punjab.

Hardeep Singh NIjjar visited Pakistan

In 1995, Jagtar Singh Tara, a Khalistani terrorist, was convicted and sentenced to life in the Beant Singh murder case. In 2004, he dug a 94-foot tunnel by hand and escaped from prison. Tara managed to flee to Pakistan where he spent years managing the terrorist group Khalistan Commando Force and its sister organisation Khalistan Tiger Force.

In 2013, Nijjar went to Pakistan and spent time with Tara. There are photographs available in the public domain where Nijjar was seen with Tara on the top of a Gurdwara in Pakistan. The t-shirt he was wearing in that photograph was the same one he was wearing in another photograph carrying an AK-47 assault rifle. According to Globe and Mail, the group photograph was taken outside Lahore in a Gurdwara. Another Sikh man from Surrey had gone with Nijjar whose daughter confirmed that the photograph was genuine.

Tara then appointed Nijjar to take over KTF. However, the Globe and Mail report claimed that Nijjar refused the offer. Later, in 2015, he told a group of senior Sikh community members that he was not “dumb enough” to take charge of a terrorist organisation in Canada. Contrary to this report, India has repeatedly accused Nijjar of being chief of KTF. KTF organised prayers for him after his death making it evident that Nijjar was associated with the terror outfit.

Assassination and diplomatic fallout

On 18th June 2023, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was killed by two gunmen as he was leaving the Gurdwara. His death prompted Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau to claim that there were credible allegations of Indian government involvement. It led to a major diplomatic crisis between Canada and India. This accusation has been vehemently denied by Indian officials. India has repeatedly requested credible evidence of Indian agents’ involvement but Canada has failed to provide any. India has time and again called out Canada for allowing anti-India terrorist elements to flourish under Canadian political support.

While Canada accuses India of killing a Khalistani terrorist on Canadian soil, Canada’s own media houses are coming out with proof that he was indeed involved in terrorist activities. These reports are coming at a time when Canada remembered him with a minute of silence in its Parliament days ago.

On Monday (24th June), the Supreme Court refused to grant immediate relief to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in his bid to reverse the High Court’s interim stay on a bail order given by a lower court last week. A vacation bench comprising Justices Manoj Misra and SVN Bhatti said it would like to wait for the High Court’s decision on the matter.

In place of issuing an order on Kejriwal’s plea today, the Supreme Court chose to defer it till June 26 to await the High Court’s final ruling. The Apex Court stated that it does not want to “pre-judge” the issue while the High Court’s order on the Enforcement Directorate’s stay application.

“If we pass order now, we will prejudge the issue. This is not a subordinate court…”, the Supreme Court said.

Representing Delhi CM Kejriwal, lawyer Abhishek Manu Singhvi contended that the “balance of convenience” favours Kejriwal since there is no reasonable ground for the Delhi CM to stay in jail. “If bail is reversed, he will certainly go back to jail… as he did after the Supreme Court’s interim release to campaign for the Lok Sabha election,” Singhvi argued.

Emphasising that the top court in its previous bail order has acknowledged that Kejriwal is not a “habitual offender” with no criminal antecedents, Singhvi said that since Kejriwal has a judgment in his favour, he should be allowed to stay out of jail in the interim.

Singhvi gave this argument when the court asked Kejriwal to remain patient for 24-48 hours till the High Court pronounces its order.

Notably, On 21st June, Justice Sudhir Kumar Jain and Ravinder Daudeja of the High Court issued an interim stay on the trial court’s ruling granting bail to CM Kejriwal. Today, the Supreme Court bench remarked that the High Court reserving order in stay cases is “unusual” adding that orders in such cases are given on the spot.

“In stay matters, judgments are not reserved but passed on the spot. What has happened here it is a bit unusual. We will have it day after,” the Supreme Court said.

To this, Singhvi argued that if the High Court can stay the lower court order from coming into effect without seeing it, why the Supreme Court judges can’t do the same. “If the HC can stay it without seeing the order, why can’t your lordships stay the HC order,” Singhvi argued.

The apex court, however, emphasised that it will not make the same mistake as the High Court, and deferred the hearing in the matter to 26th June when the High Court will announce its final order on ED’s application opposing the lower court’s order granting bail to the AAP supremo. “If HC has committed a mistake, why should we repeat it at our end?”, Justice Misra asked in response.

“The order impugned in this SLP is an order by which, after hearing the counsel of the parties, the order was reserved on the stay application, and till that, the operation of the bail order stayed. A perusal of the stay order would reveal that the parties were given the opportunity to file a short submission by 24th June 2024…Additional Solicitor General submits that the order on the stay application would be passed shortly and it would be appropriate if this Court adjourns the matter so that there is an opportunity…” the Supreme Court said.

On Tuesday (18th June), a woman was convicted by a court in Germany for ‘offending’ a migrant, who was involved in the gang rape of a minor girl.

The Background of the Controversy

The case dates back to 19th September 2020 when a 15-year-old girl was gang raped in Hamburg city park in Northern Germany. The victim was heavily intoxicated at that time.

Four sexual predators took her to a nearby bush and took turns to rape her. The minor girl was then preyed upon by two other men who took advantage of her vulnerable state.

The rapists then called in other men to rape the victim in the Hamburg city park. The 15-year-old was subsequently raped for the third time by one man and then by 3 others for the fourth time in one night.

She later managed to escape the crime scene and seek assistance from people, who then called the police. The victim now suffers from PTSD (Post-traumatic stress disorder).

Justice delayed and denied

A total of 11 people were charged for the gang rape of the 15-year-old. However, two of them got away due to a lack of DNA evidence. The police were able to extract DNA evidence in the case of the remaining 9 accused.

However, the court handed 8 of them ‘probation’ ranging from 1-2 years. Only one of the accused was sentenced to a youth prison for two years and nine months without parole.

Interestingly, none of the rapists were of German origin. The ethnicity of the convicts included Polish, Egyptian, Libyan, Kuwaiti, Iranian, Armenian, Afghan, Syrian, and Montenegrin.

Woman sentenced for offending rapist

Following outrage over the brutal rape of a 15-year-old and the lenient nature of the sentencing by the court, the phone number and identity of one of the rapists were leaked on the social media platform Snapchat.

On learning about the matter, an angry 20-year-old woman dropped a message on the rapist’s number and labelled him a ‘dishonourable rapist pig’ and a ‘disgusting miscarriage.’

“Aren’t you ashamed when you look in the mirror?” she had texted the criminal. However, in a turn of events, the rape convict filed a complaint with the police who then booked the 20-year-old woman for making ‘harmful comments.’

On Tuesday (18th June), a court found the woman guilty and sentenced her to a weekend in prison for offending the convicted rapist, who got away with probation.

The police are now investigating 140 other people who made insulting remarks towards the criminal.

On Tuesday (18th June 2024), Mohammad Farid alias Aurangzeb was beaten to death on suspicion of theft in the Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh. Subsequently, an FIR was registered against 10 named individuals and many other unknown persons on charges of murder. 6 accused have also been arrested so far in this matter. Many political parties, including the Samajwadi Party, have demanded compensation of Rs 50 lakh and even a government job to Aurangzeb’s family. Incidentally, on the same day in Aligarh, a Dalit youth was brutally stabbed by an accused from the Muslim community. The victim is currently undergoing treatment and is said to be in critical condition. Now his family members have come forward and raised questions about the ‘activism’ of so-called secular leaders for Aurangzeb and their stunned silence in the stabbing case.

The name of the Dalit victim is Nakul Jatav. His father, Dinesh, had complained to Sasni Gate police station on 18th June. The deceased Aurangzeb’s house also falls in the same police station area. In his complaint, Dinesh Bharti stated that on Tuesday evening, around 7 PM, his son had gone to Pathan Mohalla in the city for work. On the way, Naushad’s son Shahzad stopped Nakul and started hurling abuses at him. When Nakul objected, Shahzad got furious and said, “How dare you! Will you interject and quarrel with us?”

It is alleged that Shahzad then took out a knife he had hidden. He attacked Nakul repeatedly with it. Due to excessive bleeding, Nakul fell to the ground and lost consciousness. As soon as he was informed of the incident, Nakul’s father, Dinesh Jatav, arrived at the spot with the police. With the help of the police, he admitted Nakul to the hospital. Upon regaining consciousness, Nakul recounted the entire incident to the police. Seeing his serious condition, Nakul was referred to JN Medical College.

Dinesh Jatav has demanded strict action against the accused. Based on his complaint, the Police have named Shahzad in the FIR. He has been booked under IPC sections 504, 506, and 307, as well as section 3(2)(VA) of the SC/ST Act. OpIndia has a copy of the complaint. The police have arrested Shahzad. The investigation and other necessary actions are ongoing. 

The injured Nakul is undergoing treatment in the hospital and has undergone surgery.

A video has surfaced showing Nakul groaning in pain in the hospital

OpIndia has obtained a video of Nakul. In the video, the victim is lying on a hospital bed, crying. One of his hands is bandaged while the other is receiving glucose. His mother can be seen trying to calm her son while he is banging his legs on the bed in pain.

‘Why is the media speaking for the thief and silent for me?’

Nakul’s brother Pankaj told OpIndia that on the same day, the thief was beaten, and his brother was also stabbed. He mentioned that due to the attack, many veins in Nakul’s hands have been cut and a lot of blood has been lost. His brother questioned the media, asking why they had been raising Aurangzeb’s voice so loudly but was silent about his brother, even though both incidents happened on the same day and in the same city.

‘Am I at fault for being Hindu?’

Pankaj Jatav also sent a video message to OpIndia in which he can be heard saying, “Am I at fault for being Hindu?” Pankaj also lambasted politicians, mentioning that no one came to their house to see them. Pankaj Jatav described himself as alone in the fight for justice. He said, “All the leaders went there with the special community. No one came with me. They even threw stones, but we didn’t. Is all the pain only theirs? Do we not have any pain and distress?”

‘Compensation for them, we are indebted because of treatment expenses’

Pankaj also described the demand for compensation for the alleged thief Aurangzeb as one-sided. He mentioned that he had spent approximately Rs 40-50 thousand on his brother’s treatment. Pankaj has three brothers, of whom only two are earning and supporting the household expenses. Nakul’s father, Dinesh Jatav, is physically challenged in his legs. The brothers also shoulder the responsibility of caring for their mother and sister. The entire family lives in a very small house and struggles to manage. According to Pankaj, due to the expenses incurred on treatment, their family has incurred debt. They are unable to find a way to repay this debt.

On Saturday, 23rd June, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav issued an order to remove SP Rakesh Singh and District Collector Kshitij Singhal. Sanskriti Jain and Sunil Kumar Mehta have been named as new Collector and SP, respectively.

The Madhya Pradesh CM has also directed ADG-CID Pawan Srivastava of the state police headquarters to investigate the incident of cow slaughter, in which five people were arrested.

This came after 54 cow carcasses with severed heads and limbs were found in two locations, along the Wainganga River in Dhanora and in the Kakartala forest last week. Following the findings, several Hindu groups protested in the area. Meanwhile, police teams from Seoni have been dispatched to Nagpur, Maharashtra, to arrest those responsible for the interstate cow smuggling ring.

So far, police have booked 12 people and arrested five of them.

Out of the 12, few accused are from Nagpur as well. Of the five who have been arrested so far, four persons were produced before Court on Saturday and the fifth will be produced before the Court on Sunday. Two of the four individuals who appeared in court were subjected to NSA provisions, according to SP Seoni Rakesh Singh. Singh added that the search for other accused persons is currently underway.

Notably, Seoni and its surrounding areas Balaghat and Betul, are notorious for cow smuggling and unlawful slaughter. Reports say that almost 7,000 cattle that had been trafficked or transported illegally have been rescued around the state, with over 1,000 persons arrested in the past six months.

In another incident, the National Security Act was invoked against two of the five arrested accused identified as Asgar and Retua. This came after the police recovered two sacks of cow meat, bones, and skin from a house in the Bengali Colony in Noorabad village in Morena. The action was taken on the complaint lodged by a local villager Anipal Gujjar. The complainant said that he saw the accused persons slaughtering a cow. When Gujjar opposed this, Asgar and other accused attacked him on Friday.

Following the incident, members from multiple Hindu rights organisations protested and blocked roads on Saturday. According to sub-divisional officer of police Adarsh Shukla, the police have filed charges against nine people for rioting, assaulting, and intimidating others under the MP Anti-Cow Slaughtering Act, the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act, and the Indian Penal Code. Notably, the offence of cow slaughter carries a prison sentence of up to seven years in Madhya Pradesh.

On Sunday, CM Mohan Yadav said that no laxity of any kind will be tolerated in the cow slaughter cases. “Madhya Pradesh government is very serious about law and order… There are clear instructions to all the districts that strict action should be taken against anyone who commits a crime under the Cow Slaughter Act. The action is being monitored at the state level. Strict action has also been taken in the Seoni incident. No laxity of any kind will be tolerated in the state,” the Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister said.

On 23rd June, Jathedar Singh Sahib Giani Raghbir Singh of Shri Akal Takht Sahib issued a statement condemning the incident where a woman from Gujarat, Archana Makwana, performed Shirshasan, a Yoga post inside Shri Harmandir Sahib’s premises. Speaking on the viral photos of Makwana, Singh emphasised Sachkhand Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Sri Darbar Sahib is the centre of Sikh spirituality where divine unity is conveyed to the entire human race. He further added that Yoga asanas have no significance in Sikhism and called it “torturous physical exercises”.

He said “Sikhism is a pure and unique religion, and some forces are deliberately spreading false propaganda about it. He asserted that Sikhism does not abandon its surrounding society nor indulge in superstitious practices like awakening horoscopes or performing torturous physical exercises for spiritual gain.”

He added that Sri Harmandir Sahib is a sacred place which is meant for ‘self-awakened souls’ where they benefit from the spiritual aura of Gurbani. “Activities like yoga postures, which are not recognized in Sikhism, are strictly prohibited within the boundaries of this holy place,” he added. Singh highlighted that instead of Yoga, Sikhs should prefer martial arts like Gatka for physical exercise.

He instructed the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee to ensure that no such actions are permitted in the future within the premises of Shri Harmandir Sahib. “These actions are against the modesty of Sikhism and the dignity of the Guru-ghar,” he said.

He added that though everyone is entitled to their beliefs, Sikhs cannot tolerate actions that contradict Sikh principles and morals. 

The Yoga at Harmandir Sahib controversy

On 22nd June, the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) filed a complaint against Archana Makwana for performing Yoga inside the Sri Darbar Sahib premises, known as Golden Temple, in Amritsar. The step was taken after visuals of the Instagram influencer performing Yoga in Sri Darbar Sahib Prakrama on International Yoga Day on 21 June appeared on social media.

Shiromani Committee President Harjinder Singh Dhami said that Sikh sentiments were hurt by the act of the woman Archana Makwana, and therefore a complaint has been filed against her. He said that the woman has already apologised for the act, and added people should not do such an act that requires them to apologise later.

Despite an apology from Makwana, on 23rd June, an FIR was launched against her on the complaint of SGPC. Following the complaint, the Vadodara crime branch provided her with police protection.

On Saturday (22nd June), the Maring Students’ Union (MSU) released a press note, saying that refugees from Myanmar have outnumbered the local population in the Tengnoupal district of Manipur.

MSU, representing the Maring tribe, pointed out that it has collected the biometrics of 1428 Myanmar nationals, who fled the country amid the ongoing fight between the army junta and pro-democracy forces.

They have taken refuge in 6 Maring Naga villages, namely, Saibol, Moirengthel, Chanringphai, Lamlong Khunou, Choktong, and Satang. According to MSU, the population of Myanmar nationals is now higher than that of the local Maring Naga tribe.

The Maring Students’ Union has also claimed that the Myanmar refugees have been illegally building houses in the villages without permission from the State authorities.

The Assam Rifles, a central paramilitary force responsible for border security in the area, has refuted claims of illegal settlements.

In a statement, it said, “In the said area, extending from BP 82 to 89, some refugees have indeed taken shelter due to warlike situation in Myanmar, however they are immediately repatriated as the security situation improves across the IMB. The accommodation arrangements for the refugees comprise of self-help, bare essential thatched huts with polythene covers”

It further added, “The State Administration is fully aware of the presence of refugees in the area and have also collected the biometric data of the refugees. Proper coordination in terms of security exists between the Security Forces and the State Administration.”

“Security Forces maintain a vigilant presence and are actively managing the border area to prevent any unlawful activities,” it concluded.

Devoleena Bhattacharjee posted a lengthy critique of Armaan Malik and his two wives, Payal and Kritika, on X (previously known as Twitter). She was further shocked to learn that the audience loved and found their ‘love stories’ engaging.

Calling polygamy a filth, she wrote, “Bigg Boss, what has happened to you? Kya itne bure din chal rahe hai apke that you find polygamy entertaining? What were you thinking when you introduced such contestants? This show is watched by people from children to the elderly. What do you want to teach the new generation? That they can have 2-3-4 marriages? Can everyone live happily together? Go and ask those who suffer from such incidents every day, living their lives in misery.”

The actress further called for the Special Marriage Act and UCC (Uniform Civil Code) to be made mandatory and said that only by the introduction of such laws can society stay away from the ‘filth’ of polygamy. She also stated that the arrival of the Malik trio on the show was pursued as entertainment, when in fact it was not.

“This is not entertainment, it’s filth. Don’t make the mistake of taking this lightly because it’s not just a reel, it’s real. I mean, I can’t even understand how anyone can call this shamelessness entertainment. I feel disgusted just hearing about it. Gross. I mean, in just 6/7 days love happened, marriage happened, and then the same thing with the wife’s best friend. This is beyond my imagination,” she stated on X.

The actress also said that the thought of having multiple marriages sounded cringe and that the TV industry was not doing the right thing by promoting such relations to the newer generation. “Don’t spread this filthy mindset to the world. As a society, we are only heading towards destruction. Truly people have gone mad,” she mentioned.

Earlier, she wrote a sarcastic post directed at Bigg Boss OTT 3 contestant Chandrika Dixit aka Vada Paav girl. “People asked me- What do you have to do to get into Bigg Boss? Where do you have to give the audition?’ Answer: Well, in our time, it wasn’t like this. Times have changed. Feelings have changed. Considering the current situation, I am certain that if you shout continuously on the streets for one month, get into arguments, and slap a couple of people, you will end up at the police station, which will boost your publicity. Jodhpur violence: Police recover two trolleys of stones on rooftops in riot-hit area, FIR against 65, 51 arrested so far

On the 21st of June, violence erupted in Rajasthan’s Jodhpur after Hindus protested against attempts by Islamists to open a gate at an Eidgah opposite a Hanuman Mandir. In the violence orchestrated by Islamists, several shops and vehicles were vandalised. During the stone pelting in the Sursagar area, several locals and police officials were injured. After the police arrived and dispersed the mob, they regrouped and started stone pelting.

It has now emerged that it was allegedly a planned attack. On Sunday, Jodhpur Police conducted a search operation in the affected area and recovered two trolleys of stones from the roofs of five houses. The Police have registered an FIR in the matter against 65 people. So far, the police have arrested 51 accused.

After the arrests, several women protested outside the police station claiming that the arrested individuals were not involved in stone pelting.

The police are monitoring the violence-hit area with drone cameras. Meanwhile, Section 144 has been imposed in five police station areas Pratap Nagar, Pratap Nagar Sadar, Devnagar, Rajiv Gandhi Nagar and Soorsagar in Jodhpur after stones were pelted by the mob and DCP West issued the order.

ADCP West Nishant Bhardwaj stated that two police officers were injured during the heavy stone pelting on Friday (21st June) night, while a woman lost her eyesight after being hit by a stone. The police then searched the houses and recovered two trolleys of stones.

Background of the Incident in Jodhpur

The violence erupted from a longstanding dispute between Hindu and Muslim communities over a gate being constructed at Eidgah near Rajaram Circle in Sursagar. The new gate is being opposed by the Hindu community as it’s in proximity to the Hanuman Temple. The construction of the gate sparked similar controversy 15 years ago and the project was halted.

On the evening of 21st June, one faction broke the previous agreement and resumed construction of the gate. When Hindus learned about it they gathered and staged protests. The two communities sat together and concluded that the gate would not be constructed. However, radicals in the Muslim community insisted that they would open the gate at any cost.

The arguments between the two communitles led to the clashing late at night. Stones were pelted for over two hours during the violence. One shop and tractor were burnt. A jeep was damaged. A Hindu woman identified as Lajwanti Gehlot was hit by a stone during the violence when she tried to fetch her grandson from the outside amidst the clash. She sustained an injury to her eye and was rushed to the hospital where the doctor informed her that she had lost vision in the injured eye. The authorities are monitoring the situation closely and have ensured that the law and order situation is under control.
