In Maharashtra’s Pandharpur, Solapur district, a fake doctor running a healthcare clinic and prescribing medicines has been busted by locals. The accused, named Dattatreya Sadashiv Pawar, was reportedly charging Rs 500 per patient for a consulation and has been seeing 70-80 patients every day for 3 years.
Pawar admitted that he has only studied till class 10 and has received 4 days of ‘training’ in Satara, following which he opened his fake clinic and started prescribing medicines to diabetes and bone disorder patients.
Locals suspicious of Pawar’s credentials had alerted the health department and local authorities, which led to a raid at his clinic. The raid revealed that Pawar neither had a medical license nor had a degree of qualification.
Pawar treated patients not only in Pandharpur but in Shegaon too. His fake clinic has been shut down and sealed by the authorities.
