In a tragic incident, at least eight passengers of the Pushpak Express were hit by the Karnataka Express in Maharashtra. The incident took place in Paranda railway station in Jalgaon district.
According to reports, the passengers of Pushpak Express jumped off the train at the Paranda railway station after a fire alarm went off in the train. A that moment, Karnataka Express was passing through the station on the adjutant tract, and the moving train hit several passengers of the Pushpak Express. Later it was found that the fire alarm was false.

According to railway officials, some passengers of the Pushpak Express pulled the chain due to the false fire alarm and jumped off the train. Tragically, they came under the Karnataka Express train. While at least 8 persons died in the incident, around 30-40 people were reportedly injured.
Railway officials and staff including Divisional Railway Manager have reached the scene of the accident.

Talking about the incident, Dilip Kumar, Executive Director of Information & Publicity Department of Railway Board, said, “a few passengers pulled alarm chain on Pushpak Express and deboarded the train. Bengaluru-New Delhi Karnataka Express was coming from the other side. We have received information of grievous injuries to a few passengers after getting hit by it…Several people had boarded the train from Bhusawal and one of the pulled the alarm chain. After that, they deboarded the train and either tried to cross the train in a wrong manner or were standing on the tracks. Due to this, they were hit by the train. Bhusawal Divisional Railway Manager has left for the spot, medical team is there, local admin is there as well. Railway’s senior section engineer is there as well. Other senior doctors and ambulances have been arranged.”
