AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan has absconded after attacking the police to free a Muslim criminal wanted in a case of attempted murder. The police have formed teams and launched a manhunt to arrest Amanatullah Khan. The police are conducting raids in Delhi and UP to apprehend the AAP MLA.
According to the FIR filed against him, the police were acting on a tip-off to arrest a wanted criminal, Shavez Khan. He was wanted in a case of attempted murder. The police got information that he was hiding in Jamia Nagar. When the police teams reached to apprehend him, AAP MLA Amanatullah Khan reached the spot with 20-25 goons.
After that, he started arguing with the police and despite the police showing their IDs, Khan and his goons attacked the police. Subsequently, Khan and the mob fled with Shavez Khan. This attack against the police occurred on Monday, the 10th of February 2025.
The police said they have registered an FIR against Amanatullah Khan and his supporters under sections of organised crime, among others. The police has also said that the criminal Amantullah Khan freed was a repeat offender.

Notably, Khan’s son was booked recently for misbehaving with Delhi Police officials.
