In a shocking development, a Hindu man named Akhil Kumar Chand was circumcised against his will by the family of his Muslim wife. The incident occurred in Mankachar town of Assam.
The victim, who hails from Rajasthan, informed that he was drugged and forcibly circumcised. Later, he had to undergo treatment in Hatigaon, Guwahati, and Bengaluru due to an infection caused by the circumcision.
Akhil also narrated that his in-laws have been forcing him to convert to Islam for the past 3 years. He had married the accused, identified as Noorsika Begum, in 2020 and has a daughter together.
The victim has now approached the police and filed a complaint against his wife and her family members. He was later taken to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital for examination.
While speaking to Prag News, Akhil stated, “Everything was fine in the beginning. But for the past 3 years, I have been pressured to change my religion. 6 months ago, my mother-in-law and two other people forcibly circumcised me.”
He pointed out, “They said that if I don’t change my name legally, then there will be no relationship with my wife. So, I filed an FIR against them on 26th October.”
“I met her in Delhi. I had helped her and later we fell in love. Then, I got married to her. First, they introduced me in their village as her cousin because the society wouldn’t have accepted Hindu getting married to a Muslim. They introduced me as their aunt’s son. After three years of marriage, people got to know that I am a Hindu. So, they started coercing me to convert,” Akhil highlighted.
“I have a six-year-old child who is currently with my mother-in-law. My wife has gone into hiding after I filed police complaint,” he concluded.
